Perea>>Mojica, he made some mistakes in his old age but he played at a really high level for a long career. We've had some very good defenders over the last 20 or so years, Perea, Cordoba and Yepes all playing around their peak was insane, just too bad our midfield and attack was terrible then. Also Zuniga at his peak was really, really good shame his late career was ruined by injuries.

i think that perea would bench mina or davinson....at least one.....it was like he was never in risk to place his starting stpot in his team......

It's form. A few years back Davinson was in very high form and might have competed more there. Yerri I think would play. Need leadership.

Got benched by a .18 years old....gosens is injured......so actually he was punished by his last performance.

Doubt he will be stop to have minutes in the team...

I would also add, that I like Mojica being taller than Fabra. I am biased with height.

he is a LB... height really isn’t super important there. Weren’t Armero and Zuniga 5’8 or shorter? As long as you are fast, can cross and have great stamina that is 90% what you need. Armeros defending was very bad

From what I’ve seen so far I’d take Mojica at that LB position any day

Mojica is so hot and cold! Argh. I love his stamina but the mental lapses are so tough...

Agree with you - I want an lb to emerge in the worst way.

Good first half from Mojica. He was a little rusty at first but it’s the beginning of the season so that’s expected. I’m not sure what’s kept him out of the NT for so long so I’m assuming he’s been injured. He’s got a good touch and was very solid on his side defensively. He tried getting forward but this Elche side is a bit limited. I can say that his touches and passes is way above any other LB we’ve had recently on the NT. Don’t have any reason why he would not be called up if he keeps playing consistently.

I believe he hasn't been called up since his performances in the disaster matches vs. Uruguay and Ecuador that got Quieroz fired. Around the same time he had a catastrophic loan at Atalanta where they returned him early after some mental lapses...

I don't think it was realistic that he was ever going to supplant Goosens (who I consider one of the best left wing backs in the world) and I guess it was one call up where those two games happened but I think that period definitely impacted his standing with the NT set because he's never been considered again since...

To me is he is like the opposite of Tesillo. Not bad moving forward with okay crosses. But defensively he gets lost at times and does not track back very well.

If I had to choose it would be Mojica obviously with my ABT type of attitude but I would still feel a bit uneasy against teams with good right wingers.

Yeah, like a clumsier, younger but more athletic alternative to Yairo.

You are right. Then even less reason to accept his tactical naivety...
