And a 4th in the 19th. Terrible near post defending on the opposite side of Scally. This has become comical…….
He was only “at fault” for 1 of the 5 goals, and even that was a really nice play by the Freiburg player.
I just noticed Freiburg is 4th in the table. They have a player market value (transfermarkt) 1/2 of Gladbach.
Great coach. I’d say he, and the Mainz coach over the last calendar year have been fantastic. The guy from Mainz has one of the best records over the last calendar year. He has much bigger club in his future.
This has been what they’ve been doing for the last 30 years, punching way above their weight. In that time they’ve had only 4 head coaches, one of whom was there for only half a season.
Looked like he was organizing his side and left his man a little too loose. To his credit, the guy who scored really got up and made it happen. After #3, I tuned out. Just checking opinions.
Scally leads the defense to a scoreless second half, as Gladbach outshoot Freiburg on the day. I watched the first five minutes and couldn't handle it. Gotta just shake this one off. On the Schade goal, he got beaten in the air - probably didn't wind up being that he left Schade too open, because he had a body on Schade by the time the ball got there. But he got outjumped, outanticipated, and outmuscled by a quality finish.
Don't get why BMG didn't adjust early They played a 433 v. Leipzig's 352 and were constantly outnumbered down the Leipzig left side where Angelino and Nkuku (+Forsberg) play v. Scally and Ginter.
Gladbach up 1-0 at 6'. Scally with the assist. Piece of cake. dmid 6 to left back to right back (scally) who heads the ball back to Neuhaus for nice relaxed finish.
Comment on air was that it was difficult finish but honestly I feel like balls that are teed up with a little air under them are easier to deal with.
Scally slides inside and receives a line breaking pass 14 yards out. One on one with the keeper he gets stoned. Replay shows he would have been offside.
Nice steal, pretty typical by now for Scally (22') as he seems to be ranging widely in this game from his rwb position.
Scally is playing really high as if he were a right winger, as Gladbach concentrate on building left, this also means he defends a little more central when the ball goes back the other way. scally intercepts in his box 31' and clears.
With 12 seconds left in the first half, BMG gift Frankfurt a goal. Frankfurt can't believe their luck. 1-1 at the half.
Well, erase all of that good work this half. Turnover in their own end, quick couple of passes and a finish. Scally was at midfield for the buildup and couldn't have gotten back in time to help. 1-1.
