Scally with the start against Freiburg. 1-1 early second half as Gladbach benefitted from an own goal.
Scally starts against Dortmund, with his buddy Reyna (and Ryerson) on the BVB bench. Gladbach open the scoring as Itakura runs through lots of passive guys in yellow jerseys and scores from CB.
Beier hurt and has to come off late first half, but it's Chukwuemeka first off the bench as Gio watches. One of the deeper benches Dortmund has had in a while, cutting into Gio's chances of playing. Scally got a yellow early for fouling Adeyemi.
Guirassy and Nmecha score in quick succession to put Dortmund up 2-1. Scally not really involved - tried to rotate over to an open Nmecha after a lucky deflection sent the ball to him, but didn't really have time to get there.
3-1 as Svensson scores in stoppage time. Ball came down the other side from Scally. As it was about to be crossed, Guirassy popped open and Scally saw it - I think maybe he should have gone to mark him instead of managing his own spot, but didn't. Guirassy's shot saved but the rebound is headed home by Svensson.
Scally starts against Holstein Kiel, who ran out to a 2-0 lead before Tolkin went off with a head injury. Scally just got the hockey assist on an equalizer, battling for control at the back post and laying it off to Honorat, who cuts it back to an open Plea to finish from 6 yards out. 2-2.
Kiel leave Honorat wide open right where Tolkin would have been were he still in the match. Kleindienst tees him up and Honorat finishes for 3-3. This is Kiel's last chance to stay up without a playoff, while Gladbach are still in the mix for the final European spots. Scally concedes a dangerous free kick on a foul that may have looked a lost worse because the guy he fouled cramped up badly at the same time and came off.
Goal for Machino - corner kick poorly cleared, and he shoots first time from 12 yards. Makes it 4-3 Kiel in stoppage time. Scally not involved. Crazy scenes.
Can't beat that. Full time incredible Kiel win. Hopefully Tolkin can return for the next one. Tough to say too much nice about a Gldabach defense that conceded four.
Scally with the start against Hoffenheim. 2-0 first half lead has now turned into 2-2. Butler beat Scally 1 v 1 on the equalizer as Scally slips perhaps because of Butler's stepover.
Honorat wide open at the back post as Kleindienst ball is whiffed by Stoger but that's fortunate because the guy who would have been guarding Honorat flew over to try to block Stoger's whiffed shot. Honorat calm finish from 15 yards for 3-2 Gladbach.
Gladbach can't hold a lead here late in the season. After a set piece is only partially cleared, Hlozek collects and blasts from outside the box for 3-3. Scally not involved.
Interesting - Lainer subs on, but for Chiarodia, not Scally. Scally might be in a center back pairing in a four man backline, unless they went with a formation change. TBD.
And they just can't stop mediocre teams from putting up 4-spots. Header off a corner for 4-3 Hoffenheim. Ridiculous. They're going to miss out on Europe because Hoffenheim and Kiel put up four goals each on them in consecutive weeks.
Wild - Kleindienst with a stoppage time header to equalize 4-4, and that's how it ends. Scally can't be happy conceding so many. Interesting that he was moved to CB late. Joe wins the muddiest uniform award and nothing else, and they're getting whistled at by their supporters.
Scally on in the 67th minute for Lainer, who started at RB. Wolfsburg took the lead early in the second half, and it's still 1-0. Paredes still out.
Had a nice clearance, but Gladbach fail to rally anything and finish with a 1-0 loss. Mid-table season.
