Word around the election place is the Mil requested 2500 poll workers and got 4000! And tge best part is the Chief Inspector is a life long Tottenham supporter! Glory, glory!
The President's 'fingers of fury' should be working overtime tonight. He'll tweet out accolades and plaudits for states that he wins or other Republican candidates that he supports (like Tuberville in Alabama). Any state that gets flipped to Joe Biden? Watch the President 'flip out' with nonsensical stuff about a rigged election or a fraudulent result. I wonder if William Hill is taking bets on what happens first: The President has a major stroke once he sees the writing on the wall OR his fingers develop a rapid, debilitating case of arthritis? I'm trying to be as upbeat as possible. The thought of the alternative (a 2nd Trump term and/or Republicans holding the Senate) will send me and many others to a dark place we don't want to go to at all.
I'm watching MSNBC. Maybe some CNN if I want to be annoyed. Will switch to Fox only if the opportunity for schadenfreude exists.
Back in the old days when people mingled and my wife dragged me to the opera, it was always my go-to intermission drink. not gonna be much need for extra caffeine this evening
A childhood friend of my wife is a chef in London (he's half-British; native of Portsmouth although he spent most of his youth in Bulgaria). He went to culinary school in Dublin, where he learned to make Irish Coffee--so I'm thinking this is solid advice. The trick to making good Irish Coffee, according to him, is NOT to use good whiskey. You use the cheap stuff, to cut through the coffee taste. He said higher-end whiskey is too smooth. FWIW.
"Election night" is a construct by the media to treat the election like a sporting event so you watch more advertising.
And that's why it might be a good idea to spend a good deal of the evening with the sound off on the television set. The pictures and associated graphics would be enough to sustain me.
I keep waiting for Tottenham to collapse under the weight of Mourunho and it's just not happening. Quite the opposite.
Why not use the good whiskey and leave out the coffee? Maybe just look at a picture of Juan Valdez as you drink it.
