"He may hand a debut to 18-year-old Belgian defender Jelle van Damme in place of American international John O'Brien, who has an Achilles injury." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/2002/09/24/wed_previews/ I haven't seen this any where. anybody know when and how this happened?
jinne mentioned it happend near the end of the roosen game. JOB did not travel for the interweek inter game.
yea i know thats why I was asking. ankle injuries are the worst for soccer players. just ask josh wolff and ben olsen
JOB injured??? No way in heck! I think he had to rest his vocal chords right after the cup. I can't wait for WC 06 just to hear him sing
Yeah he was out for awhile with and achillies problem, but I'm not sure which foot it was, so this may or may not be a reinjury or a brand new one. Tough break, hopefully not to serious.
It's his left Achilles which I'm 99.9% sure is what was injured after the 2000 Olympics that kept him out of the Ajax first team until about spring 2001. He came out about 30 min. into the 2nd half Sunday against Roosendaal because of the heel. No word on how serious it is though.
amazing - JOB is out (for injury) - and Ajax loses to Inter! every time he plays left defender they win - end of story - and when he is not on the pitch - they lose.
