Buffalo, are they good though? My questions are...how does andy vd meyde stack as a forward, how much will be lost by not having galasek or vd vaart?

They're not missing much with Galasek out.

VdVaartt, however--despite his not-so-great play in the CL this season--was one of Ajax's few offensive threats.

Both van Damme and Sneijder are good, but young--the latter scored this weekend vs. Roda.

Of course, Ajax are fluid in their positioning, etc, but they may be playing five in the back, with Pienaar, Yakubu, and Sneijder in the midfield.

Anybody have a guess as to what Ajax strategy may be? Think they will defend and counter or try and get a quick goal then play the possession game? Any thoughts.

i see them playing their typical style in this game, despite a different formation. i am not very knowledgable on van damme or sneijder but it seems pretty stong, i hope to see good things from pienaar.

JOB to Zlatan. Maldini (the masked one) intercepts and moves forward. Chivu's pass goes too long.

Cagey start according to commentator. Pienaar is fouled. Ajax free kick comes to nothing.

    Milan moves forward.

Shevchenko forced wide after a nice run. Stopped by Van Damme.

Now a 4-4-3 would be an interesting change for ajax... (but the ref might take exception...)

Van der Meyde has played quite well this year as a winger/forward. I'm surprised to see Pienaar up front on the right. He had been filling in the 9.5 when vdv was hurt. This will be a good test for John at LM. Despite calling it 4-3-3 this looks like a more defensive line-up for Ajax as JOB and Yakuba also play in the back. Wish I could see this one somewhere...
