JOB does not play in this heartbreaker. Ajax leads 1-0 on Zlatlan's first half goal, but Jelle van Damme - JOB's fill-in, get sent off at 84' for handling on the goal line. The Norweigans score on the PK and Ajax has only 2 pts. from two games v. Rosenborg. Not a good showing by any means.
I guess the kid really tried to emulate JOB's goalkeeping skills...obviously still needs some work on it... I went to a pub to watch this match...Ajax didnt play well at all, Zlatan missed quite a few great chances and the aforementioned deliberate handball was almost incredible. It was so deliberate in fact, that it merited 2 Reds..if there was some rule in LOTG that allowed the automatic goal for the infraction, this surely would have been the case, especially if the PK was saved. Ajax is going to have to hope to win out to advance now out of the grouo with two tough matches remaining, @Lyon and home vs Inter. Anything less than the full 6 points is looking like UEFA Cup "relegation"
Still hope for Ajax Good thing, however, that Inter only managed a draw with Lyon. Ajax and Inter are still even on points, but Inter is ahead in goal differential.
the whole group is actually still completely up for grabs. From what it sounded like on the radio neither RBK nor Ajax played all that well, but it was a huge point for RBK. If they can win their last remaining home game things will really be shaken up. Ajax have the weapons to advance, but if they keep letting points slip they are going to be lucky to get that uefa cup birth.
