I watched him against Feyenoord and he looked like he was hiding himself, even if he did get a lot of actual game play. One of the sources in that link notes the same thing "Esconde-se" - he hides himself. Seems to point to a real lack of confidence in his part - surprising insofar as he usually starts relatively strong everywhere he goes before falling off.
