On Tuesday night, after arriving in Kansas City to embark on his 4-day trial as a soccer player, star Cincinnati Bengals' wide receiver Chad Ochocinco had tweeted that he was "headed to bed with a (humble pie) in the oven on low tempature [sic],to be able to grace the pitch with elite futbol athletes."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"Exactly what I expected," the six-time Pro Bowler explained. "I would be a little winded being that I haven't ran at this pace or this level since the end of our season of football. It was fun. I didn't expect to come in here and be Superman."

dont give up nfl pal, do it for your homies, rommy and collincito.

they have a lot of faith on you people, please dont break their hearts.

I have learnED so much about sports from watching great journalist and great broadcasters such as these guys.

    Do they have books?

    I need their books.

They know everything a sport fan needs to know, everything about sports, everything about athleticism, everything about competition.

Great journalism is back in American TV now, just great.

    YES!!! :D

Since this AguaSalsa we're talking about, he would be kicking the horse with his feet, as he does not care for or play baseball in any way.

I am going to nominate Scott Van Pelt for the prestigious position of being bigsoccer public enemy #1. The guy makes snarky comments about soccer every single time its covered on sportscenter. I'm not the type that gets all riled up by this type of stuff, I've come to expect it from a lot of mainstream sports pundits, but SVP's contempt for the sport is borderline obsessive. Seriously, I watch sportcenter just about every night, and every time a soccer highlight comes up he just busts out the hate. Kind of weird.

Its a shame too because SVP seems like an awesome dude otherwise. whatevs.

Offered a walk-on position on the Univ. of Maryland basketball squad by coach Lefty Driesell, but the six-foot-six Van Pelt never played for the Terrapins

At least this guy made an effort to play college ball.

not like jimmy and colin, they didnt even play pewee football. :D

Mr. Van Pelt, how about you tell us your story, why you quit college hoops? Was it too tough for u big guy?

There's no way that was Scott Van Pelt. He wouldn't waste his time posting here, even for 1 post. He's cool. So what if he hates football, it's his opinion, he's entitled to it.

That thread is from 9 f'in years ago! So these complaints have been goin on forever. And even back then, people thought the league would benefit from another sport's strike. Hahaha, the more things change...

It's not that he hates soccer. It's that he makes his contempt for the sport very clear every single time he covers it on sportscenter. And again, I'm not so much upset by this as I am perplexed It really is borderline obsessive.

Based on his behavior on sportscenter, I have no trouble believing that he took the time to hate on a sport on an obscure message board nine years ago.

Those Scott Van Pelt posts were more likely the work of a Segroves sockpuppet.
