That's just pride. The ref hated his guts after their first dispute and yellow card, so he couldn't admit he was wrong when Duran once again "cried wolf". That's the problem with always asking for a penalty, they don't give it when it actually happens.

Missed out on them scoring 4 goals.

Now he is gonna realize how they don't need him necessarily.

They are playing domestically and in Europa League so at least there's still chance of minutes and rotations.

It is being reported by Turkish media that Duran was called up for these friendlies but turned it down so that he can focus on being healthy and earning his minutes for Fenerbahçe.
That same media reported that it left a good impression on the club management.

Not sure of the validity to this claim but if true it does show some maturity.

Not sure Fenerbahçe is the place to party. I mean maybe there's hotel bars but you won't find Aguardiente easily in that region that is for sure.

Not sure the Turks would like him much if he visited Greece. Gut feeling.

It's absolutely the right move if he stayed with his club to build up his fitness and win his spot back, its actually disappointing he was called up he needs to be constantly reinforced that he needs to sort his professionalism out to get back into the team. If he's lazy and wants to party that sucks, but goal one is to show his club he is serious and to get into a rhythm and build trust.

Lorenzo during his press conference last night gave his his side of the story. Duran needs more minutes and consistency.
The Turkish story was either made up or maybe Duran did talk to Lorenzo and said it would be better for him to stay in Turkey and work on more playing time. (Thinking he would be called either way.)

Durán started today he's been 65 mins on the pitch without being booked! Must be a record. 2-2 no goals for Duran let's hope they can get a winner.

Assisted the third goal and subbed out at the 75th minute. Even the coach doesn't want to risk another card.
