I wouldn't say Ibra; as cool and amusing he is, he didn't win certain things that he could have.

Still one of the best ever strikers of his generation but man I wish he won the champions league at least once and got to play in an euro tournament final (club wise).

According to Turkish press Duran's injury is tibial periostitis. We in America also know this as chronic shin splints.

They are speculating that he has a major case of this because his previous teams forced him to play through the pain.

I kinda thought maybe having to play more minutes in Sauidi Arabia would affect him physically. He was so used to playing as a super sub. His body was just not used to it.

    shin splints effect his back?

well glad they figured it out... and both the Turkish and Colombian media can stop saying this fking guy is just making it up because he doesnt want to play for his club or the NT.

I know a lot of you guys already wrote this kid off but biggest talent we had in the pipe line since James or Juan Pablo Pino. Let's just hope he becomes a James/Falcao talent and not a Juan Pablo Pino one. Hell I'd be happy with a Quintero/Bacca level talent.

we can't afford to lose him due to bad influences around him. Cucho in Spain and Suarez in Portugal now force him to not think hey I can just walk into the NT. Which he could argue he was right when our options were Borre, Cordoba and 2nd division Suarez.

Shin splints shouldnt be affecting his poor judgement on and off the field. No one has written off Duran except Duran. I don't buy that he was forced to do anything. These are professional players surrounded by professional staff, including doctors. At Duran's age, it's the team's agent/coach and player's best interest to not force any type of injury. That would make no sense. This is not to say that it's not legit and he's not struggling with bad pain and needs to recover but Ii still think there is more here that we dont know about. As you noted Czd, his previous complaint was about a back injury.

I think we all agree that he needs to find his best self, get back to peak health and do what he does best.

I had an issue with one of my testicles... it was a lower back issue. Just because you have pain in 1 spot doesnt mean that is the spot of your body with the issue

You can also injure your back when your shins are not giving you good support. You can pull muscles and over compensate when one thing in your body is not working properly.

Whatever the case may be, the media is reporting that he is injured and not faking it.

A lot of factors can affect different parts of your body; especially feet support throughout the day is what helps prevent back issues for everyday people.

Duran is training with his team and it is being reported by Colombian media that he may be available as soon as Thursday against Stuttgart in the Europa League.

Are we about to see someone flop before their career even started? Yeah he is only 21 but this guy has completely fallen from grace in ways many wouldn't expect after how he was performing at Villa.

He's definitely flopped since leaving Villa, but realistically it's just a year and he's 21. The signs are bad, he needs to get into a good environment and sort his head out and I think the chances that will happen by the World Cup are maybe 15%. It's probably going to be next year or if the Saudi's can sell him in January maybe he can find somewhere to start to get back on track, but I think we can just forget about him and if and when he gets back on track have another look.

Well who wants him now? With how bad his loan went and how he is coming off an injury, I don't think he will land in a decent league in Europe unless he shows that he can perform. He will have to make the next 2-3 months very productive.

Yeah I don't think anyone is gonna be willing to pay much for him, so the Saudi's would have to be willing to essentially eat a huge loss, but I think that Ronaldo doesn't want him back at Al Nassr so idk what they're going to do.

    Loan him to wolves :)

the saudis will take a bath on him either way the amount of teams that can pay the transfer fee they paid for him are a handful. The amount who will pay his wages even less. Think he makes more than Lautaro Martinez who is inter and italys top paid player

so Italy is out. Spain neither big team would touch him

    so it’s EPL.

has to take a massive wage cut and the club needs to take 1/2 or 1/3rd what they paid for him

just insane to expect to pay 70m for him and to resell him for more money. If he had scored 30 goals in Saudi, 10 in qualifiers, then 40 this season in Saudi league and 10+ at the World Cup

still think he is worth less than he would have been if he had stayed at villa

No one is gonna pay a transfer fee and those wages in any top league. The Saudi's will have to cover a lot of the wages for the remainder of his contract and they have to hope he goes somewhere does well and then they can get him off the books somehow. The Saudi's pay a premium, I don't think their model is to sell on players at a profit and they certainly aren't gonna do that with Duran, its all about how much more they are going to lose with his wages.

Well I hope they'll at least use him the time he has left. He must realize that even if he would be on his way out it's time that he at least had 1 or 2 good performances in europe. It was a really long time ago since he played well (or even played) and no team is going to buy him based on what he did 1-2 years ago. I don't believe he's injured at all.

I predict he will either get a red or score a golazo if he plays.
Feast or famine type of extremes with this dude.

hope he scores and keeps on scoring all is forgiven. Having him in his form he had at villa for the World Cup is what we all should be hoping for.... not on the bandwagon of fk this kid

    that won't help the NT.
