Could be. But at Villa he was actually very effective as a starter in the games when he got a chance - it's coaching and scheme. I wish he never left. Villa miss him a ton and he obviously misses Emery... I hope you are right and he starts to build back confidence as a sub tonight but what a disaster. This actor/tv personality that's on some kind of council of influential fans at Fenerbache makes awful statements about Duran and they get circulated like he is on the staff...and then the kid gets benched. When he played better on the weekend and got an assist (finally does the unselfish thing) is brutal.
Awful ref. The first goal was well ruled off but the second one was a legit goal to me. Defender took a dive.
Tough. Goal scored by the guy on Benfica who is about to transfer to Fenerbache. Transaction was paused while this game was played. Also, I had to leave home and miss last ten minutes but appears the kid hurt himself on top of everything. So he won't be in the call up either way.
Wouldnt be the first time he say he is injure when he is ok 1960820413182959844 is not a valid tweet id
1960833986747338763 is not a valid tweet id When he was in aston villa were also reports of sonething similar
It's plausible. Can't be fun to go back after what happened last time, and he doesn't want to say no because people will hate him for it. Still I think he's not in best shape right now so he may not be that clinical.
There’s another problem with his situation, from what I’ve seen on Turkish fans’ social media. He was brought in as the main rival to Osimhen and even given the same salary, but the truth is Osimhen is simply on another level, at least in terms of maturity. If Mou really thought this guy was at the same level, then it’s on him. THat’s poor due diligence.
Seems like he's been injured, but if it's not true and he's just faking it'll go real bad real fast under Mou.
Not sure. He asked him to stay in feet yesterday....knowing mou he can decide to scapegoar him because didnt opt to play the last minute
This kid has had issues around him everywhere he goes. Idk that I want him on the team tbh. Even in form hes capable of getting kicked out of a game and screwing them team. Thats a risk you only take for star players, which he is not.
thats the point...i dont know about his super achievements to tolerate this kind of risks and bad playing ...even people wants james (with reason) despite he had a lot of savings to be a diva...dont know why to be so patience.....the fact that al hilal was scammed by aston villa with that price doesnt mean he is that good...at least now
Al Nassr And I think that Duran is a good player. He has tons of potential at only 21, but he insists to destroy everything and I really don't understand why.He literlly had problem in every single club he played for, including the NT. It won't take long until he find himself in a minor league of back in the FPC with this attitude.
At this point, it feels more like expectations of a possible bright future than what he actually offers right now. Nobody denies that he could become a good 9, but his skill set is still limited and has to grow. He’s not the strongest, not the most involved in the build-up, not the best pivot, not a dribbler. His finishing and positioning are okay. It’s normal that at his age he isn’t a “crack” yet and can improve with time, but beyond all the transfer noise he hasn’t really earned enough to be a starter , not in Fenerbahçe, not in Aston Villa, and not in the national team.
I mean there are plenty of top 5 league strikers pushing 25+ with lots of "time" that will never have Duran's raw talent. And he doesnt have to be the best at anything to be successful. That's why this is so frustrating. Because as much as I know this wont end well, he is very talented, has size, speed and attributes that are hard to find in Colombian players specially. He's acting like a 12 year old, thinking he's a Top 10 World player without looking at context of what those players do to be elite. BUT part of me doesnt blame him. He's not at fault for commanding the market price/demand paid for him and his salary. He's not at fault for club owners/coaches allowing his poor attitude He's not at fault for oil rich middle east league paying ridiculous dollars. He's not at fault when the Colombian NT DT rewards James GOAT status regardless of his form, calls him up and has him play full 90 But the issue with Duran is that everyone around him has worked so hard to make him something he is not. Which is a professional at his craft. And EVERY job requires accountability. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this story not end well.
Well said - in hindsight, Emery was doing unbelievable work micromanaging the kid to get the best out of him. But that's Unai - he studies like crazy and then gets players to find their very best by teaching them exactly where to be, how to stand, which leg to shoot with... By last Nov and December he had Duran starting games and actually pivoting well and pressing. Going into the Newcastle game where he got the red card (his only start where he didn't score in the league last year) there was real expectation among Villa fans that he was taking the starting slot over from Watkins. To the point that Villa offered Ollie to Arsenal right before the offer from Al Nassr came in... As someone said above its such a mistake for his crew to have pushed for his move when they did. Villa needed the money for PSR and without Emery's paint by numbers coaching everything seems to be falling apart for the kid.
