There's also a possibility you can put Duvan closer to the left wing while Cordoba plays #9 late in a game. Or even Morelos

Remember Duvan played with Falcao last cycle.against Peru as a supporting striker and looked fine.

I think morelos actually as starter playing matches (games in a row) actuallty can contribute more goals than muriel or zapata.............

Muriel and Zapata are enhaced in gasperini/atalanta system....but i cant see ythis regularity with queiroz actually...

however, given that we have to start wcq now...duvan should star with muriel...but i think that morelos with confident couldbe more simialr to falcao in wcq 2014 than zapata and muriel.........but he needs confident and that need friendlies and cups to try

Oof. I don't know what more Duvan can show. He's been super consistent - I worry more about his holding that form until Qatar but for the qualifiers it makes sense.

What I wonder for Colombia, always since 2014, is if we should be playing James closer to the opposition goal because irrespective of where he plays for clubs or other strikers, he is a remarkable finisher himself and we may just score more by using him off the striker.

The issue with that is that we don't have the same kind of personel on the wings and defensive backs we did then to have enough volume of play without him dropping deep otherwise. If we had Diaz or Sinister a really breakout on the flanks, I'd go to that myself.

Cordoba for me is a back up for Zapata at 9 and Morelos a solid competition with for the 7 role. I'm also compelled by Borre as 9 if he keeps developing as I think he can play that Teo role.

If we don't score by 60th minute, the game will be tied. Muriel gets tired at time mark.

What a difference a month makes.

We go from having too many #9s in October to probably just having a couple pure #9s available in November.

    Not good.

He was a part of one of the last National team zoom calls so it is a possibility now if all these guys are not available.

It isn't trolling or flaming to raise a prior disagreement. Even in the post above he is framing his pov as a matter of taste and not invalidating yours.

It IS against code to deliberately take threads off topic and so I brought to Nicci's attention that he should keep on topic. If he were to continue driving the Zapata-Lukaku comparison wilfully on the Muriel thread it might warrant intervention, but that hasn't happened.

Not a great move, Krasnador has played in the UCL in recent seasons but no European football this season unfortunately. He made a mistake leaving Koln I think, he was doing great there and probably hit his peak and the move to Hertha didn't help his career. Not likely to see him for Colombia again I fear with guys like Borja being brought back in and Morelos still likely ahead of him too.
