Yes I actually think he could do better in EPL than Diaz. He's not that explosive and spectacular a player but he's very consistent. He almost never plays poorly and is very reliable.

Don't think he's going to Galatasaray. Joke of an offer. First they wait weeks to bid and then they say 10 million. I read flu wants 18. No way they are going to settle for 10.

I wish he would move so he could make more money

but otherwise, I don’t care. He is in a good team in a good league and developed incredibly well there. I don’t get our rush to have players move when they are in good situations.

I guess that for the player himself it would be a good deal even with the 10M. He would get better paid and more exposure. So he would climb financially but I don't think the club is that impressed with that bid.

yeah for him it would be good

but football wise, there is no telling if any situation would be better than where he is now

The only thing that he would risk would be his spot in the NT if he somehow would get benched and ignored by his new club. Otherwise he'd get better paid and would probably stay in that salary level regardless if he would be a benchplayer or not.

But I seriously doubt that he would do badly. There are 4 latinos in their starting lineup, it would be very easy for him to settle down.

Cannot believe there isn't a line out the building of clubs to sign him. He plays every position across midfield minus CDM (He probably could play it tbh) really well, does his job with a smile, is a physical specimen and strong like a bull can dribble, create, defend and scores goals. If he was Brazilian named Ariazinho he'd be going to Man City or Chelsea for 40m. He's at the peak of his career and at worst could be a jack knife player for the best teams in the world getting 4 players in 1.

He is a short Colombian and not a Brazilian named Ariazinho so those are three strikes against him.

He seems loyal and devoted to Fluminense so there's that too.

    Eh

    I don’t get the obsession

    he is doing great there
Loved by the fans and coach
they’ve helped his development a lot
    He plays a lot

if he stays there, he stays there. The grass isn’t always greener.

Sadly flu wasn't eliminated from libertadores. I hope Palmeiras goes out tonight so that they can stop blocking Rios transfer.
Flu should take the money and run regardless of how well he is doing. If they get 10-15M for a 1M player they can easily bring in other great promising players.

I saw his game and think it would be very interesting to see him in a faster and more physical football league. If he would manage to adapt he'd go to the next level just like Rios. I'm confident in his technical abilities so I think he would overcome it.

It's true he will continue to deliver. He will be the same player and will not decline. But I think it would be healthy for him and the NT if he went to a European League because he would probably evolve and become even better. But apart from that I agree with you. On a personal level he's perfect although making peanuts compared to Europe.

    Yeah

but he could also find himself in a bad situation like when Cuadrado went to Chelsea. I hope he gets transferred for his money but there is no promise that any situation will be better than the already perfect situation he has

I think the likelihood of him succeeding is higher than most, he's shown massive versatility across positions and isn't inexperienced and young. the problem is that Flu project has changed, the main architect Diniz isn't there some players have left and they are in relegation zone in Brazil. It might be hard for him to go to the next level there and of all the players I think he's a good bet to succeed. Also ya if he stays and keeps playing and being the leader its fine, but the guy is a top talent.

Being short doesn't really matter when you're built like a bull playing in midfield. Strength and physicality is what is needed and he has it in spades especially for a skillful player.

It doesn’t always work that way. There are some dumb coaches world wide. We’ve seen good players destroyed by douche bag coaches

I hope he moves but if he stays, so be it. I know he will continue to shine and thrive and help the NT

    I know this.
Still is a stigma that may be hard to overcome at first glance for Colombians not going up against European talent week-to-week.

I totally agree with this sentiment and inclination not to mess with a good thing.

But he is EASILY the most underrated midfielder in the world, IMHO.

Who is the best midfielder on the planet most people haven't heard of? Jhon Arias.

Yeah but it's a bit like the Valderrama thing. Hailed as many as one of the greatest south american players. But only in south america! In Europe he was a nobody. But at least he tried even if it didn't work out. It feels like Arias situation is the same. Even if he's a superstar in brazil you still see he has many flaws and is by no means perfect. It would just be super interesting to see him in any european league to see if he could do it. I think that since he excelles in technique he could overcome the other stuff, but I guess we won't ever know unless some miracle happens last week of the window.
