With Guppy running the show you should be able to order them just in time for Christmas of 2008!

Will Guppy be at the club by Christmas 2008?

Some day we're going to have a situation where fans can nominate not to have a sponsor's logo splashed across their club's colours.

It's business. It's money for the club and I understand that. Them's the rules. Maybe I'm not alone in being a Fire fan who wants to wear the team's colours alone, not those of the sponsor. Let the players do that.

I'm the exact opposite, by not putting the sponsor on the jerseys we sell it looks cheap. You don't see any any Manchester United jerseys without AIG on the front.

I agree 100%. I would prefer not to have corporate messages splashed everywhere, from the jerseys to the stadium, to the name of the leagues etc...

At worse I wouldn't mind it so much if they were local businesses supporting a local team, but when you have sponsors like Toyota that have dozens of teams sporting their logo it just reeks of exploitation. But that is the way most teams are going and everyone has to keep up with the Joneses or lose ground if they don't.

The problem is that it's just not an attractive design. The new jersey looks like something I could have put together. When I heard about the deal I was certain that they would splash that yellow Best Buy ticket on the front of the jersey. Now that I see what they came up with in the Toyota Park lab, I really wish they just pinned Best Buy's yellow logo on the jersey. Would've been better.

The league controls the look of the jersey, not the team or the sponsor. Everyone was constrained by time and regulations. Blame MLS for not being smart enough to make an exception that would allow the sponsor, the team and the fans to be happier with a multi million dollar deal.

Well then I'm REALLY glad you had no say as to what the jersey would look like, I'm not saying you have bad taste, wait a minute, that IS what I'm saying! :D

I concur. It looks to me like somebody threw it together in two minutes wiith photoshop. That's just my opinion.

I would have also rather seen them doing business with Target, because the red/white target symbol needs no futher embellishment or text. But beggars, as they say, can't be choosers.

So like it or not, we're gonna have to get used to it. My guess is it will take two or three tries for them to get it right, and they'll probably nail it just in time for Blanco to retire.

Why does MLS not do pre-orders as the European clubs do? They can't have a mock up on the web page? Or are they stuck with last years kit, and don't want to discount it yet. Horrible marketing.

Well...Section 8 Chicago should be raffling off one home and one away jersey soon. We'll just steal your email address for our mailing list, ask you to fill out a short survey, and then pluck out two winners from whoever does the survey.

    Word up!

Something about possible demand for 200-300 pre-ordered MLS jerseys as compared to demand for 10,000 pre-ordered Euro team's jerseys.

Wow. It's bad. Really, really bad. Ouch. Seriously, whoever is responsible, team, league, Best Buy... they should fix it.

I love our new jerseys. They shit on last years.

For some reason I prefer the away white one more though.
