My dad Still a construction worker, my Mom still a house cleaner and she now drives a BMW X5 let's see a Portuguese house cleaner in Portugal (she'd most likely probably be from Ukraine or something) do that.
That's really nice I'm going to rep you when I can, I actually got teary eyed. I'm calling my mom and dad when I get home, in fact I think we should all do the same
my dad was an avid guitar singer who did pubs in portugal.... he still sings at family gatherings.... my mom cleans to but she used to have a real estate job seriously wow she makes alot of dough and your right people have aless tend to work more harder but this generation has everthing on a silver platter.... i guess thats why we tend to go to casinos more often.
I came here in 96 on my own, since then i greaduated from College, bought a house, bought a SUV, have a good managerial job, got married and have a kid. I guess you could say that i am living the american dream. I love Portugal, all my family is there, but i would not trade living in Toronto for nothing. I love the city and the people, plus i am so used to the north american way.....when you don't get what you want, you call customer service!!!
what about the weather to devils? are you used to that.... and your right toronto is a great city but i spend more time in new york then here i have a condo in new york but not making a 6 figure salary.... funny though all we think about is money....all i care for is reving up my independent label and getting my shite heard....
You go girl! My mother-in-law also cleans houses (unfortunately does not drive a Beemer though ). My father was a construction worker and my mom was a seamstress. And, you guessed it, I'm also very proud of them; I would not be who I am today without their hard-work and dedication to the family...
You are so right. My parents live in Portugal and they say it is so hard to find someone to help out and clean the house (my parents are in their 70s); that's where the Ukrainians and Russians are willing and able to get jobs. No one wants that task, heck, God forbid they get down and dirty! I'm sorry but it is the truth, I hear the same complaint from people I talk to when I go there in the Summer. We're not generalizing, just pointing what unfortunately are facts in our motherland!
Word!!!!! I like the weather...coming from the hot beach of Nazare, the snow is a nice change. Nothing beats a snow day, hot chocolate and a nice movie on tv....
WHAT...Devils, the frio is putting your brain on ice. I would take the hot beach over the snow anyday....but with that said, i dont hate winter. Its just....different
Hot beach is nice....but so many hot things can happen at home in a snow day For shizzle my nizzle!!!!
Jerseys. Anyone here know of any store where I could find a GD Chaves jersey? If I can't find one in the U.S. or online I'll have to buy it in Chaves and I don't know when I'll be going to Portugal, maybe next year, June, on my way to Germany.
wow, you can forget that. Only way is to go to Portugal and don't be surprised if the team dosen't actually sell jerseys when you get there.
Haha, so true, i wanted to buy a Chaves jersey back in 97 (since I'm from the region) and the only way to get one is if you are lucky enough to be in the stands when a Chaves player will actually throw you a jersey
ahah my family is from chaves area too (well 1/2 is, im 1/2 madeira too). what does their jersey look like anyways? I have a feeling its red/blue but I dont even know anymore, Hopefully they come back to superliga soon enough.
Getting a jersey now-a-day's shouldn't be as hard as they make it. Then these clubs wonder why they have financial problems, they can't even get shirts out to fans that want to buy them. Ridiculous!
WTF is that? What cheap jersey. When then were in the superliga, it looked way better. I hope management smarten up because Chaves have the supporters to make a home game pretty intense. I watched a game in Chaves years ago vs Braganca. There were fights, flairs, everything
