I agree, also notice the #28 above the name Ronaldo when usually it's the reverse

They do place the sponsor over the name but never the way this jersey is designed. Stay away..far away from this counterfeit.

    It's always:

    Sponsor
    Player Name
    Number

Also the PT logo is B/w.

Side Note: Love to see how people outside Portugal refer to Sporting: Sporting Lisbon :p

Correct...only recently did the PT Logo have color. When they first become a sponsor it was in black.

Just like the "Telecel" logo before PT.

The season Cristiano Ronaldo left for Manchester United (he played against Man U in a preseason game and was bought soon after), Sporting did have the player name under the number. This was changed before the season started though. The font is not correct either.

you remember seeing this? do you have a picture because that's very weird, I don't recall ever seeing that on Sporting jerseys. I've seen it in some Portugal clubs even currently but not on Sporting... you could be right though if you can find us a picture out there

Well darn. Someone must have ruined a legit non-numbered jersey, because the jersey itself looks correct. It's a shame that people do that. I was wondering why the name was below, but I knew teams did do it from time to time, and I didn't have SPT back then.

    Orlando

Edit: Just watched the video! Wow, and while it is cool, those are the tan 3rd jerseys (away) that they had, and the numbers and names are the wrong font, like everyone was saying.

wow, good find. I vaguely remember where I was during this game: at Alberto's Restaurant (in Torreira near Murtosa) having a Sapateira recheada while the game was on TV :D

I believe that jersey is the jersey they used through out the season but not the jersey they used in the game vs Man Utd (and as someone pointed out the number and name fonts are wrong). Although I'm pretty sure the name was above the number during the season, it was under the number in the game vs Man Utd.

The jersey they used against Man Utd had a white background where the name and number was and the fonts for the name and number are wrong too. I do have a wmv that can show the home striped jersey they used against Man Utd, I'll try to upload it.

the best showing of the back of Ronaldo's jersey in the Man Utd game is at the 2:00 minute mark.

Wow...I stand corrected...I have watched the video of this game and had never noticed that, or just got used to seeing in the other way.

I know they wore the striped kit in the first half and then the alternate in the second half.

OK, so the black kit is history? That has to be one of the shortest runs for a kit in a long while for this team. They usually go about 2-4 years with one set, don't they?

Yeah I heard that a month ago talking to a retailer here. So I assume the current home will be used through Euro '08? The template for the away hasn't changed so why come out with a new home right?

2 years, and yes it was short on account that it came out in early 2006 was worn once and was disbanded in early 2007. So basically it had a 1 year run.
