I am 100% sure that some numbers that the players wear mean something.

Example: Number 1- Usually a goalkeeper.

    # 10- The captain or the leader of the team

    # 7- The encouraging player and the assist player (I wear this number :D)

    Can anyone name more?

In England before the introduction of squad numbers it was, generally speaking, for a 4-4-2 formation.
    1. Goalkeeper.
    2. Rightback.
    3. Leftback.
    5+6. Centrebacks.
    4+8. Centre Midfield
    7. Right Midfield.
    11. Left Midfield.
    9+10. Strikers.

Funny how that differs from country to country...

In Germany a number 6 is usually a defensive midfielder.
1 is the goalkeeper, 2-4 or 5 the defenders, 7 and 8 Midfield, 10 the Playmaker and 9 and 11 the forwards...
