I didn't see what happened to Nagbe. The level of communication/instruction from the trainer seemed to indicate concussion protocol, but I didn't see anything obvious.
It was right after the collision with Sands. Sands went down for a second because he got tripped up, but Burke was holding his midsection (or possibly something lower) because he got some lower body contact as Sands went by.
Job half done. At the moment ... feels like a Crew mistake is what gets the Red Bulls back in the game ... rather than any NYRB moment of brilliance.
Are you talking about the lower body collision in the Red Bull defending end involving the CB or the defensive play on the touch line where Burke was down? The latter was soon after he threw up. Or was there another play
possession 63-37 in our favor I was shocked when they mentioned midway through the half that we had a big lead in possession, because it felt like all NY for most of that beginning, but I guess we actually had a whole lot of possession, and it was just our defenders and midfield under heavy, heavy pressure that just made it feel like they had the majority of the control.
Yes, I attended an international summer friendly there between Tottenham and Sporting Lisbon. It was full that day, sans the Redbulls.....
I honestly hate how gambling-fied everything is. I know those "odds" are things we have seen before, but FFS we shouldn't be seeing that in March. It's only there for betting purposes.
Oh, you know what? I had that wrong. It WAS Reyes involved in the collision with Sands. The Burke stoppage/vomit incident happened immediately on the re-start of play, so I convinced myself it was the same guy, and one caused the other. My bad.
Not the best first half, but a 1-0 lead is something I will take. Glad Matan finally has a goal, hopefully it’s a weight off his shoulders and he can continue to improve. That being said, it was a gift. If Colonel just retreats to his goal, then nothing happens. Quinton needs to play a simpler game. Around the 25th minute he was double-teamed on the far sideline in his own half (so essentially triple-teamed) and instead of just clearing the ball and regrouping, he tried to split the defenders with either a pass or dribble, hard to tell. He got lucky that they blocked it and it came back to him and he just smashed it off someone for a corner, but that was unnecessary. Not much else to take from the first half.
OK, so now that that's been corrected, yeah -- I have no idea what's going on with Burke. Could have just been fighting illness and finally succumbed to it. He is starting the second half, it appears.
