http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/...layer-united-states-mens-national-team-060513 Pretty good profile of Jermaine. Mentions something in the end about the fans being 'unconvinced' of his abilities, but I think that is kind of outdated and most US fans are warming up to him by now. In fact I think he will actually be a leader of the team in Brazil if things keep going in the direction they are going now.
The USA has been pretty bad since Bob Bradley handed him a midfield spot after the 2010 WC. He may be better than Clark, Edu, Feilhaber, Torres, Holden......but has our team been better? Not in my book.
I think he is just settling in and going to get more comfortable and play better as the World Cup comes into focus. Him and Bradley seem to enjoy playing with each other and they really haven't had that many opportunities in big games.
I hope you're right, but I think Bradley and Jones are too similar to play side by side. Since Jr scores more....I'd drop Jones back to central defense. Back there he wouldn't make the "dirty" tackles he claims he needs to make in midfield.
And throw Williams on the pitch at the same time for good measure. Yeah not sure what Klinsman was thinking playing so many D Mids, awful idea. But Jones/Bradley pairing seems to work pretty good if its just the 2 of them.
Jermaine Jones has been awesome this calendar year, one of the most pleasant prizes in our NT pool this year/
He covers a sh!t load of ground...just wish he would stop appearing to try to do much. Not sure if this is my perception or reality. He plays intensely, sometimes seems out of tempo with the rest of the squad. Hasn't had a whole lot of opportunity to play with LD in the line-up. Curious to see how that might impact his game...sometime in the fall, perhaps.
O really?? Because over the last 2 years they have the same number of goals for club and country and Jones has more assists But lets keep spreading this false information because it sounds good.
Did Lebron James win a championship with the cavaliers? Now Jones can play like he does with Schalke because he has a great cast in Dempsey,Donovan, F. Johnson, Bradley and 2013 Altidore. So when he does a quick 1 2 it dosent have to roll out of bounds like it does with EJ.
according to wikipedia: Bradley has 11 goals in 76 USMNT games. one goal every 7 games. Jones has 2 goals in 30 USMNT games. one goal every 15 games. Checkmate.
Didn't realize we rated Box-to-box midfielders by goals scored. Damnit, why do I always fall for your obvious troll posts.
Jones has been astounding for the US for a while. It's been fun to watch people warm up to him. No more having to hear about him being the redundant player, or that he's this raged lunatic that can't control himself.
huh? My veracity has been challenged. I apparently have to prove to some that Bradley scores more often than Jones. That now being accomplished, you call me a troll? Also. How does copying data from wikipedia and posting it here constitute "trolling"?
Awesome Bradley scored more under a different coach in a different role. Great to know Now that we are in the JK era lets judge on the data that currently applies. Which would be Bradley - 2 g, 1 a Jones - 1g 4 a If anything Jones has been the more productive attacking player, but really that argument is splitting hairs. Lets just say both have their moments and both can be very useful in the attack
