Damn, just when I'd learned how to pronounce his name.

In all seriousness, I have no issues with this.

All I ask with these kids with NT options is that US Soccer makes a pitch. It sounds like this happened and either he thought Sweden was better for his career or his heart was with them. (Or maybe he didn't think he'd get that FIFA waiver.) I can't quibble with that.

The US isn't gonna get every dual nat and, as the caliber of the pool increases, playing time isn't gonna be guaranteed just by choosing the US over another NT.

Or maybe he realized we have better players. His game had a big hole. He is not a high octane type of a player. He walks a lot and prefers to contain, play zone and intercept balls rather than confront the opponent. He prefers to push the ball in open field and make the final pass.

this would be a great time for the official account to send warm wishes cajustes way and indicate we will be watching and rooting for him. Pretty much free goodwill

One less player I need to follow. Not a big loss IMO.... I don't think the kid has the engine to be an elite CDM. Maybe he would be better further upfield where he can use his dribbling skills.... but right now... he isn't half the CDM Adams is.

I know people perhaps lost interest in Cajuste after he picked Sweden over the USMNT. He also showed his lack of experience due to his age and had some trouble, like the rest of the FCM team, adjusting to Champions league Level in the first games, but then in the end was one of the very best FCM players in their last 1-1 game against Liverpool, that they actually should have won. Here are the extended highlights from that game, where FCM started out with some clown defending, but clearly were the better team in the second half :

According to Danish transfer experts, Cajuste is now one of 3 FCM top sales objects after their Champions league debut, estimated transfer value being $8 to $10 million in this winter transfer window. The two other FCM players who did a great job promoting themselves in Champions League were Danish CB Alexander Scholz and the 22-yo right winger Anders Dreyer.

But also the 22-yo Nigerian central midfielder Frank Onyeka, and likewise 22-yo Brazilian attacking midfielder Evander are now possible sales objects for the top leagues this winter, and this is the problem when we look at the stability of the top teams in the Danish Superliga, because they will need to replace these players if they are sold, which is not that easy to do during half a season, though they signed Pione Sisto earlier this year, to raise the level and do some future "damage control".

Highlights from the last game against FC Nordsjælland before the winter break where especially Anders Dreyer and Scholz were showing some star quality :

    Danish Cup, Quarter-Finals :

    1st leg :
    Vejle v Randers
    AGF Aarhus v B93 (2. Division)
Fremad Amager (1. Division) v SønderjyskE
    OB Odense v FC Midtjylland

    10. and 11. February 2021

As earlier mentioned in the Haji Wright at Sønderjyske thread, then the Danish Cup tournament has suddenly become more important this season, now that UEFA has granted the Danish Cup winner a place in the Europa League play-off's in 2021-22, and so as minimum also a place in the new Conference League group stage, if they lose in the Europa League play-off's.

However, Denmark also managed an upgrade with 2 Superliga teams now playing Champions League qualifiers, and the Danish Champions entering at the very last stage of the qualifiers, so if FCM and Cajuste mange to become Danish Champions, they will end up directly in the Champions League Play-off's and so as a minimum be sure of a place in the Europa League group stage, if they lose in the Champions League play-off's.

Clubs from England and France have shown interest and especially Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin, Mönchengladbach, Werder Bremen and Union Berlin have all been scouting Cajuste and so the price tag is now said to be $7 million, not according to Danish media, that estimate him to be worth around $8 to $10 million, but according to a reliable Swedish newspaper.
