Injured, dead weight. coloradorapids.com has his status as "Out: Jeff Stewart (R-Knee)". He tore his ACL last year giving Borchers a chance to impress. Who knows when he'll be back. Must be the worst ACL tear ever.
Which is funny cause it certainly does not stop him from going out to clubs...I see him out and dancing all the time!
Ahhh...dancing drunk in front of the ladies has similarities to hard-tackling defense in the MLS. Ouch. Werd I've herd is that he's gone for the season, can't quite get back. But, I can't recall where I heard that from, so it's officially just rumormill grist at this point. Cheers, BilFish
Does anyone think that a player that was on the cusp of making it or not would be able to make it after a two year layoff? Not me ... I think once he's "healed" he's cut.
He is going to have a real hard time getting his place back in the squad, especially with the current back four playing so well and the backups being decent. I think he is totally expendable.
He's going to be the backup header guy for Sullivan in the last two minutes of a match once he returns. I also noted that the minute the Boulder Rapid Reserves match was over, he set a land speed record running to his car to get away. I can only assume that there must be some major problem for him with laterality. He has had lots of time to rehabilitate and if he still is unable to play, there must be a big problem. Maybe someone could give him the name of ZiZi's witch doctor!!!
Word before the season started was that he was training and then reinjured the knee badly enough he needed surgery again. I guess as long as he's on the injured list, he can't be cut so he's out livin' in up on his 30K salary. yippee
