I am a very big supporter of JCO and i think he will bring a very successful and attractive style of soccer to the meadowlands this year but i am getting nervous about these foreign imports he has talked about signing ... we can really use them as we are entering the season with the same roster as last year which lacked creativity in the midfield and a rock in the back ... i know this is all everyone talks about but its now preseason and JCO is in camp in LA and he will be busy from here on out which means he has no more time to travel and attempt to find the missing pieces to the puzzle ... like i said i trust him as a coach and i truly think he will bring success to our club but i really do not want to enter the year without adding some much needed reinforcements to our roster and time is not on our side.......

I understand you inquietude, but the Metro Administration has been working on this for 12 years and nothing, Osorio only have one month, he need time and beside, isn't necessary that he got to make this trips in person, Agoos or other Red Bulls can make this for him, give the man a little rope if you and me want to get the right players...I will not be surprised if we don't have a new player to show until the summer brake, because with the cap and rule of the MLS isn't easy, remember that...

we will probably start our season as is and then add some reinforcements during the second transfer window in the summer. As fans we would prefer that he start the season out right--but tactically it may be easier to get the guys into the team in mid-season setting up the team to make a playoff run.

Who cares? This is MLS, it doesnt really matter how we're playing at the start of the season that matters. It's how we're playing at the end of the season that counts. We can be crap the first half of the season and then ramp it up in August, by October we'll be firing on all cylinders.

A plan that has worked so well in the past dozen years. When is someone who runs this team going to learn that a team which gets used to losing has a hard time learning to win?

I hope JCO brings in a cen defender before the season IMO Metro has guys that could play left mid in Dema, DVB or Doe. Not all stars but serviceable, especially for the reg season.

At A mid I could live with Magee competing with Kassel(hopefully).

Now at the central d spot for a 3 man backline Metro imo have no one.

relax there is plenty of time. theres always a ton of moves right at the end and in the summer. look at chicago they sucked at then they got blanco and JCO (who we have now btw) and they turned it up. we weren't a horrible team last year and i actually think we're poised to be better this year now that watereus wont be starting in goal. i'm guessing we'll get a few players a left back and a maybe left sided midfielder who can cross like VDB but with better pace. i'd be surprised if get an attacking midfielder as long as reyna is still on the team.

I agree about the Center Mid and the time, but: we need a Central and Left defender...I don't think that sign Renteria make much sense for now, only if JCO is sure that Jozy is going for good pretty soon, say this summer, but far I here, he will stay the whole 2008 season with the team...

    This is a great point.

It's also worth noting that teams which add pieces during the season usually end up looking like a cluster******** - last year's Fire notwithstanding.

Just once I'd like to go into a season with a full roster of guys who know what to expect and how to play with each other. Seems that's what the successful teams in the league do while we're always relegated to using June and July as a pseudo training camp. It ********ing sucks.

even if jozy stays all of 2008 hes still going to miss plenty of game with the possibility of the olympics and call ups with the mens team

We just need to have a little patience. The team has already picked up Carlos Echeverry and they've identified a CAM that may be signed before mid-April. Needs at LM and LB might get filled by this summer and perhaps they'll identify a strong CB that would facilitate a 3-5-2 formation.
