City youngsters Jay Denny and Carl Dickinson have revealed their delight at being included in the first-team squad last Saturday at Reading.

The pair were on the substitute's bench, and while they didn't get on during the game and the result was far from ideal, both enjoyed the experience.

For Jay, it was the first time this season he's been included in the senior squad and the midfielder admits he was surprised at his inclusion.

He said: "It was a great experience for myself and Carl.

"We would both have liked to get on and play but being around the players, seeing how they prepare for a game and the whole experience of a matchday was really worthwhile.

"I found out on Thursday that we were in the squad and despite the injury problems the manager has, I was still surprised to be called up.
