Jay Demerit has been chosen as Watford's captain after the previous captain Gavin Mahon left during the transfer window. The great accomplishments keep piling up for Jay don't they?

If Fulham stay up and McBride remains at Fulham we could potentially have 2 captains in the EPL.

No, he wasn't any captain on the team until now. He was probably one of the biggest fan favorites over the past few years, but yeah. I'm so proud of him. Way to rep Bay Port and Green Bay!!!

He was vice-captain, which meant he was captain when the appointed captain wasn't playing.

But as I remember, Gavin Mahon didn't play at all during the month of December as Watford was preparing to loan him out to QPR, so DeMerit captained the team through all those games. He's worn the armband several times this season.

Definitely a great accomplishment for a former 7th division player. Aidy Boothroyd has also tipped DeMerit to one day captain his country, but that may be a bit optimistic.
