Hey, this is news to me, but Sir Shootalot is saying Jason is thinking about leaving:

"Goalscorer Kreis, who it is understood has inquired about a move away from the Burn, added: "I thought we played well and created chances. I'm proud of the work we put in, but it seems we cannot get the ball to bounce our way. "

I know Sir S. has been (way) off before, but this one isn't pleasant. Comments?

    Sorry, I meant ussocceruk.com, not ussoccer.com

The stadium's only temporary. Surely if that's the only reason, he can be accommodated....I hope.

I wonder if Jason's starting to have "issues" with the coaching staff as well. Most people would probably say that the Burn have underachieved while Jeffries has been coach here and this year looks to be no different.

Kreis will turn 31 later this year and probably has just 3 to 5 years left in his playing career. Does he want to spend his next few years on a team that will be lucky to make the playoffs and has little chance of reaching the MLS Cup?

The only times I've seen him happy have been when he's combined in well-played, athletic, 'shiny' combinations with Rhine.

    But, obviously, those come few-and-far-in-between.

But guess why EJ is unhappy... he doesn't like playing with Kreis... and Cerritos' style does not suit Jason's...

The 'only' way Jason is going to be happy is if he plays with someone else that plays like he does...

And gets a championship doing it.

I've been willing to trade Kreis for Faria and a pick (or something relative)... maybe now is the time to start the talks.

Dallas has scored only 5 goals.

Jason has scored 3 of them.

    Our defense isn't impressing anyone.

No one else can score except for Jason.

...Oh wait, Ronnie, can score, but that's another story...

And now we're talking about trading Jason?

Why don't we concentrate on someone who isn't doing their share?

He has the makings of a great player but if little things, like the way the ball bounces, don't go his way he just kinda sits on his hands. He needs to bust his ass. Hell I think he needs to be more gratefull of where he is. He's only a year older than me and if MJ gave me a chance to play on the Burn I would bust my ass 1000X harder than he does. I use to think he'd eventually blend in with the Burn but it just gets worse, so I say trade him!

Jason could score more consistently and more often with a forward partner that compliments him.

I'd like him to have that, even if it means losing him.

Frankly, I think he deserves it, and my guess is so does he.

I know it comes close to 'fan blasphemy', but I want Jason to have a MLS championship under his belt before he retires.

He might not get that with the Fire, but he could get that with an emerging Metro club. Maybe a three way trade could be put in play.

My theory from a 1,000 miles away...they would trade Jason for draft picks if it meant they got enough cap room to sign a big time forward.

I will take any trade if it brings us an MLS Cup.

ANY trade. Just so it works.

They already have cap room for a big time forward.

and likely a replacement for O'Brien.

Getting a "big time forward" in the MLS draft or allotment is a frightening proposition. Who's a big time forward coming to MLS? THere certainly didn't seem to be any in this year's draft/allotment. Trading Kries for an unknown quantity is scary to me.

Eddie doesn't like playing with *anyone* that doesn't compliment him... but don't take my word for it, ask him yourself. ;)

Maybe Kreis thinks he stands a better chance of injuring his knees on that God forsaken turf. Isn't that one of the reasons that Wolff wanted out of Chicago? Maybe we'll start to see more and more players bailing on teams that play on plastic grass.

this is why moving back to the Cotton Bowl next season is a no-brainer. Come on guys, you thought your little "lets put them in a high school stadium for 2 years and tell them it's good atmosphere to make up for the lack of grass and beer" didn't work out and if it effects the team then it should be curtains for Shitlake.
