I didn't realize that the interest was so serious.

Apparently Cesena have made an offer for Usami.

Is there even a slightly chance he will go?

Good move, good move :D :D

Stuff Bayern's offer, Cesena would be a great start for europe.

This move feels like a direct appeal to Zac.

I believe that Usami feels frustrated that he hasn't made his NT debut yet and I think that he's trying to persuade Zac by going to Italy.

I think there's some truth to that, but also he was EVENTUALLY going to europe.
I think another element is that if he's rushing, it's because he thinks he'll get put below Miyaichi in the pecking order if he doesn't do something.

Either way he's too good not to start for Cesena so this is a good start for him. You'd think he will consult Nagatomo before putting pen to paper.

    I agree

I feel that he's definitely leaving this summer.

I actually don't have a problem with Cesena. I believe that he would get playing time, but I can't see him emulating Nagatomo.

Nagatomo is 24 while Usami is 19.

I'm guessing that Usami would get from 10-20 starts next season, but to be honest I'm not expecting much in his first season. If he got 5 goals then that would be huge and he would probably move the next season, but more realistically he'll get 1-2 goals and then hopefully have a break out season the next season.

edit: The one thing that I am worried about is the physicality.

It's only a matter of time until Usami make his debut for NT, could be against Peru, nobody knows (The same applies for Miyaichi)...
By the way, I don't understand Zac's mind, he pick up flops like Kurihara and Takuya Honda while you have Makino and Usami; Thinks like this really makes me mad. Even Okada was smart enough to keep Kurihara away from NT

What are you guys talking about? Did he sign with Cesena?

Not a bad move if it's true, Cesena finished 15 th. Only 8 points from 10 th place. Many including me were sure they would get relegated.

Gamba are being smart, although Cesena will be thinking that's all their "Yuto Nagatomo" cash gone.
Nagatomo was bought from Tokyo for $1.8 million, so...... Gamba will have a tough time getting 5-6 out of Cesena considering that's how much they sold Nagatomo to Inter for.

I suppose Gamba want 5-6 because the KNOW for damn certain that Cesena have the cash if they really want him.

If it goes to Cesena, I don't think Cesena will own him, nor pay for him... If you know what I mean...

Sounds pretty much like Cesena is some sort of broker... so does it make any sense to go there for a Japanese when the coach who took Nagatomo there went away?
Their 'interest' reminds me of Perugia who were desperate for a Japanese replacement after they sold Nakata to Roma.

Or, in more recent times VVV.
It is exactly like that, sc-f...

My question, thou, is why won't other clubs do the same, really.
there is absolutely nothing to lose for the European club, the prices, compared to the standard on the continent are ridicule, all you need is a good scout in Japan.

Interesting... but I guess the answer is that from a certain level (of talent/reputation/confidence) players won't easily go when the business scheme becomes too apparent. They have still the luxury to choose. Take Usami: If media is talking about Chelsea watching him and Bayern confirming their training offer, Cesena's offer must be that good that it hurts them.

This makes it 3 (Cup winners) for 3, along with Honda (Russian) and Uchida (German).

    Congratulations, Nagatomo and Inter Milan!

I wish I could've watch it in full...
