I'm new here, so this is probably discussed elsewhere, but it is simply BAFFLING to me that Kagawa is not on the WC team. Just crazy. The kid is playing so well right now, and now moving to one of the better teams in Germany. Did he sleep with the coach's wife, f*ck up at a NT game, or is he a giant locker room douchebag? This is like Mexico leaving behind J. Hernandez or something. Really odd...

Ironically, I bet if this had happened a month ago he'd have been an automatic for the WC... even w/o stepping on a field in Germany.

That is just Okada's [vacuum of] logic.

Rafinha to Bayern I think, it should have already been that way last year but Schalke refused.

Anyway, Matsui just arrived in Japan and salute you :

I don't think that this would be a good move for Uchida. I have no problem with Kagawa going because I think that he has the mentality to succeed even if he has to start on the bench, but Uchida does not have that kind of mentality.

I doubt that he has ever been in a position where playing time is not guaranteed. He wouldn't know how to cope with it.

Hasn't Uchida made it clear a million times that he has no intention of going abroad?

I'm sure they'll both learn to deal with whatever their future challenges in Europe holds. Becasue if they don't, they'll be back in Japan mighty quick.

These players are going overseas to find out if they have what it takes (skills, mentality, etc.) to succeed in Europe. There's no guarentee that Kagawa will succeed, and no guarentee that Uchida will fail. That's why it's exciting.

Well there's really not a whole lot left for him to win in japan. The world cup I think may have made him consider the football outside the little fishbowl we call the j.league.

Not everyone shares your insulting, Troussier-like view of the J-League.
