Some players need to look for any chance moving abroad to revive their career if they still care, especially for Hirayama, who is absolutely underrated and misjudged in Japan

For young prospects like Uchida Atsuto, I prefer them to move in case some club offer position more than benchwarmer. It's good to experience different football styles but I also understand if they stay for another one or two years

    Okubo stayed on the bench

As Dzeko and Grafite in style recently, maybe we could expect Okubo asked to play midfielder more and more?

Koki talking about his time so far at Celtic -

"In training I sometimes play as a striker and I have come up against Glenn Loovens. He is quite a big guy. That has been a good experience for me," he revealed.

"When I came here I was quite worried if I could get into the team or not. But the manager told me I would need time to settle. He was right. But I have played more games than last year and that has given me confidence. The experience I have gained from the matches has been useful. Now I want to use that experience."

Unbeknown to many, the Japanese internationalist, who has been capped four times, is as comfortable playing up front as well as out wide and would be happy to perform that role for Celtic. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Georgios Samaras both seem to have rediscovered their scoring touches in the past couple of weeks following dramatic and highly costly slumps in form. Should either man allow their standards to slip again in the near or distant future, though, Mizuno would be ready and willing to take their place.

"I have played as a striker quite a few times in training and for the reserves. If the manager wants me to play as a striker then I will give my best."

The best may still be to come at Celtic from a player who has been tipped to be the biggest thing in Japanese football since Nakamura and who has every intention of fulfilling that prophecy.

VVV Venlo has won the Jupilar league in the Netherlands.

Congratulations to Honda. I think that he's the 3nd Japanese player to win a title abroad after Nakata and Nakamura (correct me if I'm wrong). Hopefully Wolfsburg will win the Bundesliga which will greatly increase the value of Hasebe and maybe Okubo.

    Here's an interview (in English)

He's not that bad at English.

Looks like he's gone for sure this summer.

Okudera won the Bundesliga with Koln in 1978.
Koji won the Swiss league last season.

Great season by VVV and Honda. So he scored 15 goals? Do you know how many assists?

Bollocks. Inamoto and Ono and Hasebe were all getting regular starting time and now they're all injured.

How'd you find out about him? Shalke site says he's only 19. Joined in 2008, I wonder why there was not a word about him.

btw, Bundesliga don't have reserves, they have an U23 league and that's it.

I was looking around schalkes wiki and I saw him there.
I guess that he didn't get much attention because he was either born in Germany or maybe he's like Nakazawa who went to Brazil without actually being signed by a club.

True, but Schalke's reserve team is called FC Schalke II. ;)

According to transfermarkt, he's 20 actually. Started 6 games for the FC Schalke II side (currently playing in Germany's 4th division), and subbed in 7 times. Scored a goal. He's a wing forward from what they're saying. His youth team was GYOSHU-Kokushikan (must be a high school right?)

Here's an interview with Honda. Looks like if he's going to move it will have to be to either PSV, AJAX, AZ, or Feynoord. He doesn't want to leave the Netherlands and there's still a chance that he may stay with VVV.

How come its the wives of Japanese footballers are so secret its impossible to find pics of them? Honda's pretty young to be married already! I always wondered what Nakamura's wife looked like :D

Apparently Morimoto suspended for next game cause of his yellow. I think he's got too many yellows this season or something like 4. So he can't play Fiorentina.

Keisuke Honda is making a good decision to stay within Holland for now.

i think Okubo should move back to Japan in summer if Magath don't move.
He has no chance to get into the starting 11 for my opinion and Magath also said before that Okubo do stop thinking that football is a circus.
