Did anyone see Mascara's goal for Catania? It was amazing. This was a really good week for Japanese abroad.

    Nakamura 3 goals
Morimoto 1 goal and 1 assist
    Hasebe 1 goal
    Matsui 1 goal

    What a week!

As expected, the news this morning were all over the Nakamura hat trick!

After the baseball and golf though, obviously. ;)

watched the highlights of the Celtic's 7-0 thrashing of St Mirren. Hard to beleive this was the same team who been finding it had to score in recent games even though St Mirren is a bottom of the table team.

Nakamura first goal was a mid range shot just outside the 18yard box right in the middle that the goalie (Chris Smith?) got both hands on but fcked up and sort of let it bounce off his hand and over his head into goal.

His 2nd goal was from nearly the same position, this time just inside the 18 yard box right in the centre, a lovely pass to him which he gathered and put it away.

His last goal was the best, a great free kick, curling it right to the near top right corner, taking the free kick from the right side of the goal about 24 yards out.

7-0......now that kind of scoreline dont come around often.

My goodness. That might be one of the most high-velocity strikes I've EVER seen. Koeman/Mihajlovic territory there.

This move would certainly work for both sides. Manchester United aren't exactly loaded on forwards. With Tevez most certainly leaving this summer and Berbatov towards his final years, this would be a perfect opportunity for Morimoto. The only competition that he would have would be Manucho (Who isn't looking great right now) and Fraizer Campbell (Who can't get a game for Spurs). I think that he would work well with Rooney. The only problem would be that if Man Utd do complete the Quadruple or Quintuple then Ferguson will surely retire and Morimoto probably won't be picked up.

The problem is United will surely go for a more proven striker.

great news for him. i can see him making a fairly big move in the near future, although i doubt united will pick him up. i could be wrong though, united do have a lot of japanese fans who would surely lick up the red shirts with morimoto on the back :D

I think Morimoto would be watched because there are similarities between Morimoto and Rooney in their progression through professional football.

Both turned pro at incredibly young ages, both similar build. Rooney was not recognised as a deadly striker until he went to Man U. Both Morimoto and Rooney took 34 & 33 league games to reach 6 league goals in Serie A and PL. Morimoto is now starting to show a real maturity about his game too.

Morimoto is starting his great career.
He is still 20 years old and has scored 4 goals this season in the most defensive league in the world. My only worry is that he is fragile. After the Sicilian Derby, Catania announced he would be out for 2 weeks. He has suffered from repeated injuries since his J-League days. He may fall into the same trap as Ono or Kubo did.

He usually plays as a left-sided attacking mid, right?

Ibusuki did not debut unfortunately. Wolfsburg won 1-0 at Karlsruhe and Hasebe played 90 minutes. Okubo didn't see any time. Wolfsburg have climed to equal second with Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim.
