Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Nakamura played entire game and assisted Celtic's first goal. Hasebe started and played 95 minutes in the German Cup quarterfinals. Wolfsburg beat Hamburger SV 2-1. Matsui played 72 minutes and scored one goal in the French cup semifinals. But his team failed to advance to the final.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Le Mans lost 5-4 to Lens. Matsui was sick during the past week therefore he couldn't play the last championship game with Le Mans . He started the league cup semi-final against Lens though as Aiueo said. Le Mans' president, Henry Legarda tooks part of a radio show yesterday. He said that they are under negociation to extend Matsui's contract. Le Mans is one of the poorest team of the league and are still waiting for their new stadium for their budget to increase. They can't afford to pay Matsui as well as he would be paid in another L1 team or a foreigner one. By the way, here is Matsui's goal : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4j1sd_34-matsui-le-mans-lens_sport
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Bundesliag-preview saturday Karlsruher SC - VfL Wolfsburg sunday VfL Bochum - Bayer 04 Leverkusen HSV - Eintracht Frankfurt All realy hard games for our japanese Bundesliga players this weekend. Woflsburg got the best chances against Karlsruhe. I got a bad feeling Bochum will lose against Leverkusen Against HSV i see a 50:50-chance for Frankfurt. I hope Ina impressed his coach with his powerfull performance to starting again at Hamburg.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] He should stay at Le Mans. Le Mans is just getting better and better. I hope the club gets a European spot for next season.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] So, it would depend by which Italian team and for how long. Nakata and Nakamura were in "mediocre" teams and built a career out of it.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Yeah but the step those two took in Italy i believe Matuis has already taken in France, am i wrong?

Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] I am not sure. In Italy there is a completely different kind of stress, that basically drives to make or break. I believe that in a good environment (Parma? Atalanta? Palermo?) Matsui could ulteriorly grow and be ready for a big club, but in some demanding team (Torino, Genoa, Lazio, Fiorentina...) where fans have no patience, he'll be squished. In the end, I believe the best move for him would be to OL Lyon.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Well, there is no high pressure from media and fans at Le Mans. That's not correct to say that there is no pressure in France. French media is focused on PSG and OM. There is plenty of show on tv, radio everyday focused on both teams. There is also pressure from the fans. Recently, the best PSG player received death threats from PSG fans because he trown away a paper that a fan gave him. Fans followed him until his home and so on. If you expect OM or PSG fans to be patient you'll be disappointed Anyway, Le Mans will lose a lot of players. De Melo to palermo. Many clubs are interested in Basa, Gervinho, Pele, Romaric and Matsui as well. Legarda is trying hard to keep Basa, Gervinho, Romaric and Matsui. If Matsui stay at Le Mans which i'm pretty sure he won't, he'll be a key player of their midfield. To be honest, Gervinho, Basa, De Melo and Romaric are better considered in France than Matsui. Matsui gained in popularity from the time he scored against Lyon. I like Matsui even though he is rather nonchalant. He has to improve some parts of his game but he is skilled. He is the first asian player successing in L1. That's good for him and maybe also for japanese players to don't be considered only as jersey sellers and maybe someday L1 clubs will be really interested in asian players. Yes, we are slow The article Debian posted earlier didn't spoke about Lyon interest in Matsui. A journalist asked him about Lyon and he answered that Lyon are a good team and that it would be great to play with them. In my opinion, it's not a good thing for Matsui to join Lyon. There are already Govou and Ben Arfa to play on the wing. They already signed another midfield for the upcoming season (Ederson). There is another winger named Kader Keita who never play even though he is a starter with Ivory Coast. He will have only a few playing time at Lyon. Sorry, my message is too long.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] I don't know how reliable this is but according to several Japanese sources, Lille and St. Etienne make an offer for Matsui. Lyon and Monaco also interested in him. St. Etienne have struggled recently but they are the most successful team in the Ligue 1, winning the championship 10 times. Lille played UEFA CL last season and finished 2nd place in the group stage but now they aren't that good. Still his best option is staying at Le Mans imo.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] I'd rather see him succeed at Lyon. Then there'd be another Japanese player in a powerhouse team (the other being Nakamura). Lyon more so. Lyon are a powerhouse in, as a general whole, better league than the SPL.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] No, it's actually great to hear from somebody who knows the league so well. Keep us posted, thanks!
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Sawa played 77 minutes in Copa Libertadores group stage matchday 2. Cienciano lost to Flamengo 1-2. Here is the highlights. Libertadores 2008: Flamengo-BRA ( 2x1 ) Cienciano-PER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tkjfDWPQE4
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] http://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2008/03/01/04.html Hasebe may miss today's game. He has a minor injury.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] mmmh, no word about it on Woflsburgs HP but he will be in the squad.
