Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread seriously? Takahara came back to J-league to play in the NT games? nothing to do with his failure this season in the Bundesliga?
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread thats why i am surprised he hasnt gone onto bigger and better things. times running out. hes already reached his peak sometime ago with Celtic and he not getting any younger. another injury and he will sit out another half a season. he has found a comfort zone in the Scottish League, with the fans, the league games being easy, and with Celtic having a near guaranteed chance to get the automatic CL spot, to play in the CL group stages every year. needs to break out of that comfort zone, if he is really going to have a chance of achieving something thats worth accolades, something great, win medals and cups or be remembered properly by followers of Asian football.
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread Yea that's right. In case you forgot to mention, Celtics gets automatic Round of 16 spot in UCL, where as other clubs like AC Milan actually has to earn it by wining games in group stage
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread Failure? Everyone knows he can still play in the Bundesliga. Thought he was always a good player, this year just been suffering from the injury bug that always seems to affect him.
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread Imo Takahara did well in the Bundesliga by Asian standard. There're only 4 Asian players who scored more than 10 goals in one season in top Euro Leagues: Cha Bum-Kun, Nakata, Hashemian and Takahara. The Scottish league may be incompetitive. But winning the league's MVP award is a great achivement.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] naka smashed a 6th minute free kick off the post and assisted in the second goal with his corner. he was also a part of celtic's third goal. last i heard koki was in the gym working on upper body strength. this is a good idea as it has helped aiden mcgeady significantly without sacrificing his pace or sharpness. in fact aiden has never been quicker than he has been this season.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] he is in the champions league squad of 25 and with both scott brown (suspended) and andreas hinkel (cup tied) missing the game there is a possibility he could make the bench.
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread you can see from my previous posts (in the WCQ thread from which some posts have been transplanted) that i was not writing off Takahara as a 'failure' in the Bundesliga, merely wondering at the explanation of Takahara return to the J-league was in order to play for the NT. The fact before his return he has had hardly any play time or goals be it down to lack of form and niggling injuries etc would also be yet another obvious explanation. He has up and downs in his career, and each time he was down he would climb up again, one of the latest being the Hamburger to Frankfurt move after Hamburger no longer wanted him, once in Frankfurt he probably has his best season in the Bundesliga. He then hit a rough patch in the first half of 2007-08 season. I would say he would not have returned to the J-league had it not been for that.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Honda played whole game today. They won 4-1, he didn't score but maybe he had an assist?
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread not at all. and well done to Celtic. and just in case you forgot to mention, Nakamura greatly contributed to Celtic qualifying for the last 16, in the last CL. It was even more memorable because it was the first time ever Celtic got out of the group stages in the CL. This year Celtic did it again. And Rangers failed causing the Rangers fans to be bitterly disappointed especially since they failed whereas Celtic succeeded. That is a new bragging right by Celtic, consecutive qualification to knock out stages of the CL. Before that Rangers had the bragging right of the first Scottish club (ie. first between Rangers and Celtic) to get out of the group stages. Also in case you forgot to mention, Nakamura only played 5min or so in the group stages in the current CL season in stark contrast to last season. Lets see if Celtic can make new history this wednesday. I have Scottish friends who work in anti-racism in football, but when it comes to Rangers-Celtic rivalry, they only wish death to each other, albeit only privately. All that aside, my initial point still stands. Scottish Premier League is uncompetitive, and clubs like Rangers and Celtics use their oligopoly on CL spots to attract players.
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread Daisuke Matsui played 88 minutes in a 1-0 win against Lyon.
Re: Japan vs Thailand 2010 WC Qualifier Game Day Thread The point is Celtics are one of the elite clubs in Europe, along with Man U, Arsenal, Milan, etc.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] After 3 games, a view on Hasebe and Ono Hasebe - 164 minutes (45/90/29) 0 goals / 0 assists Ono - 82 minutes (26/23/33) 0 goals / 2 assists ... and 0 minutes for Ina
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Bad, it started pretty well for him hehe. I have feeling he will change club pretty soon again. He reminds me of John Carew.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] This is Inamoto. He is too inconsisitent. ------------------------------------------ It's about time Ono get injured again.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Who should play for national team? My opinion Nakamura - Yes Matsui - Yes ----------------- Mizuno - future prospect Morimoto - future prospect Hasebe - future prospect Honda - future prospect ----------------- Inamoto - no Ono - no Oguro - no miyamoto - no nakata - no
