Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Depflight, I sent you a PM so we can continue this discussion without cluttering up the thread and taking it off-topic!
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] this week's results of european based japanese players Nakata(Fiorentina/Italy) - Didn't play Nakamura(Reggina/Italy) - Played full match and recorded one goal. Yanagisawa(Messina/Italy) - Substituted in 89'. Okubo(Mallorca/Spain) - Didn't play because of jet lag. Inamoto(cardiff/England) - Substituted out 69'. Takahara(HSV/Germany) - Played full match. Nakata(Marseille/France) - He can't still play until getting a work visa. Matui(Lemans/France) - Played full match and recorded one assist. Ono(Feyenoord/Holland) - Substituted in 69' and recorded one goal.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] really sweet shot by matsui (wearing number 22)! click for video though he's basically forgotten by the japanese media, unlike the other players in Europe he's actually really being appreciated and able to play his style of football. I'm really happy for him.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Damn, that was some nice skill from Matsui! Good showing by Ono (his goal was nice, but not as amazing as some newspapers made it sound.) and Shunsuke!
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] hi shuvy, sorry I forgot to reply to your question above... the only thing i can find right now is this -- sort of webcast. maybe once the season starts we'll be able to find more places that provide what you're looking for.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Nakamuras goal still doesnt work, can someone help me?
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Yea... I knew about that site.... I usally read their pregame and post game report. J.League did broadcast Promotion/relegation games between Kashiwa and Fukuoka online last year, but I guess they will have that options once in a while.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] http://www.tribalfootball.com/march/englisnews5020305.html Tottenham and Charlton are interested in Feyenoord midfielder Shinji Ono Moreover Japanese newspaper Sankei Sports reports Ono may transfer to FC Barcelona or Arsenal. But I don't think you had better believe the latter rumor. Anyway I hope he goes to Spain or England this year. I'm sick and tired of watching Ono play in Dutch
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] i like that he's being allowed to play the way that he plays best without people beating down on him from the start. This will give him time to get used to the language, the players, and then in the future when he is stronger, he can play with and against more powerful teams. For now, the big aim is for LeMans to get to Ligue1... hopefully!
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Good news, i remember Barca wanted hom before ?? I am also sick of watching Ono playing for Feyenoord, he is ready for the next step.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Looks like it's all going wrong - again - for Inamoto, though, as Cardiff City have crash-landed into the world of financial crisis. They're selling off lots of players and the chances of a permanent deal for Inamoto when his loan expires at the end of March look pretty much zero. So it's back to sitting on his arse at West Brom, presumably - unless he can get another loan sorted out.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] I was wondering what is going on with Nakata's career in Fiorentina? I haven't been hearing much about him in the news, and I remember him being such an important player for his respective club, as well as the national team. Has his form dipped, because everytime I look at the stats for Fiorentina's matches, he's on the bench?
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] I think his career in Fiorentina has gone down, i remember in the end of the last season when he played for Bologna he were one of the most important players , scored and assisted often. Maybe he dont like it in "Viola", i think he should try another country.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Hmm, yes I remember he was a pivotal player for Bologna. Just wondering, is the dude married? I heard he has a J-pop girlfriend.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] I'm uneasy about Ono moving to EPL, if he's really considering it. EPL is a very "unique" experience, not for the faint hearted.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Even though Nakata Koji didn't play in the match against Bahrain, it seems he picked something up from the experience. He deflected an opponent's cross into his own goal today, costing Marseille a win against PSG.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] An video interview with Shunsuke Nakamura is available on the Reggina official site -- click here to watch the clip (the interview is in Japanese and Italian). If you're looking for a rough English translation of the interview, I've done a quick one on my blog. He looks rather tired, doesn't he?
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Aww, after a run of great wins, Le Mans came back from break to lose 3-2 against Troyes. They are still in 3rd place overall, so still there is a chance for them to make it to Ligue 1. During their break, Le Mans played Paris SG and won 1-0. Here is a video clip from that game. Daisuke Matsui racked up another Assist with this goal. Btw, if anyone likes to keep track of Japanese players abroad through their personal websites, Daisuke Matsui and Koji Nakata have both opened up websites for themselves and have put up their first few messages up already! (click on the names to go to the site -- sites are in Japanese).
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] An utterly shameless plug for your blog, Depflight - I'd previously thought better of you...
