Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Suzuki no longer plays abroad. He's back at Kashima. Daisuke Matsui is a midfielder playing for Le Mans. Also, Atsushi Yanagisawa is at Messina of Serie A. Kenji Fukuda of Vegalta Sendai moved from Guarani, Paraguay to Pachuca, Mexico. He's going to play there until June 30. Niigata has a satellite team in Singapore, which includes young players of Albirex and its affiliate school, Japan Soccer College.

Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] I just heard that Matsu scored two winning goals in 2nd half stoppage time, two game in a row!!!! What is this... Ono is getting better....Okubo scores.... Japanese are rising again....
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Kenji Fukuda of Pachuca Juniors got a goal and an assist in his first match in Mexico, like Okubo in Spain. Man of the match, according to the local TV station. 福田、公式戦で1得点1アシスト=メキシコL He's almost forgotten in Japan, but I think he deserves more credit.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] How good are Pachuca Juniors? I see CF Pachuca in Copa Libertadores, but is that the same team? Also, I wonder if Troussier is still running that weird flat back 3 at Marseille.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Pachuca Juniors is CF Pachuca's second division side. However, Kenji Fukuda migth play Copa Libertados with Pachuca's first team.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] An update on Inamoto's progress at Cardiff (quotes from various BBC website stories). The team are unbeaten in the League since he arrived on loan from West Brom, manager Lennie Lawrence going so far as to say that, "It's taken Ina coming here to spark us. He balances up the team and gets better with every game. There's still a lot more to come from him." His performances are clearly getting stronger as his match fitness improves. The initial one month loan has been extended for another four weeks, with Inamoto commenting that he would give serious thought to the possibility of a permanent deal: "If the manager decides the move could be a permanent one, then I would have to think about the whole thing," he said. "Obviously I would like to play for the top teams in the country, but I must say I'm happy here at Cardiff." In the meantime, there are potential problems for Cardiff over Inamoto's inclusion in the Japan squad to play friendlies against Uzbekistan and Syria, and then North Korea in the World Cup on 09 Feb. The Bluebirds feared Inamoto would miss the away game with West Ham on 06 Feb because Japan would invoke Fifa's four-day rule. However, the match with North Korea lands on a designated date for friendlies, so Cardiff are obliged to release Inamoto only 48 hours before kick-off. As far as the friendlies are concerned, Lennie Lawrence has indicated that he believes Inamoto has enough influence to persuade Japan boss Zico to allow him to stay in Wales instead of having to return to Tokyo. Less positively, as an aside, Fiorentina v Roma was live on British Eurosport last night and it has to be said that Nakata's performance until he was - at last - substituted just after the hour was just unbelievably bad. Truly dreadful.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] I watched Real Madris-Mallorca yesterday, Okubo played for like 25 minutes, Mallorca got Iuliano red carded so they mostly chased the ball, and so did Okubo.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] http://www.antlers.port.ne.jp/antlers/RELEASE/050126142033.html Kashima gave up the contract with K.Nakata....

Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Okubo make a winning assist today: 大久保決勝起点、7戦ぶり白星/スペイン
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] seems like he should have had an assist but the guy he passed to gave it to someone else instead of scoring himself.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] You could say that he assisted Luis Garcia's assist. They have to catch up with Albacete and Malaga though. Oh, the next opponents are Malaga (A) and Albacete (H). It's a fateful moment for Okubo... In Italy, both Nakata and Nakamura played for 90 minutes. Nakamura sent a corner kick, which led to the decisive goal to defeat Lazio 2-1. He also helped setting up the counterattack that eventually produced a Bonazzoli equalizer. Although Fiorentina lost to Cagliari 0-1, Nakata played well in the midfield, from right to left to the center. The TV station chose him as MVP. Messina lost to Roma 2-3. Yanagisawa didn't play at all, as usual.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2004-05 [R] Ono has made a comeback earlier than expected. He came on as a sub in the 63rd minute. He played well and fired a shot. Good news for Feyenoord and Japan. De Graafschap 2-7 Feyenoord In Spain, Okubo of Mallorca is likely to start against Malaga.
