No Kashima! Team breakdown is a bit strange

    Urawa-7players
    JEF Chiba-4 players
    Marinos-3 players
    Sanfrecce-2 players
    Gamba-2 players
    Frontale-1 player
    Jubilo-1 player
    Omiya-1 player
    Grampus-1 player

No international players and half the J league is not represented

I think no international players is because they would just come a day before the match anyway. But even when they are invited I think it will only be a couple of them. Zico always chose almost all of them even if they never saw game action..

Team breakdown is fine. I really wouldn't choose any Kashima players besides Ogasawara and maybe a defender, but going with a mostly Urawa defense gives stability.

There are only two CB,Tsuboi and Tulio.
Moreover, the one is a very aggressive player.

7 is a little much for any one team to give up in the middle of the season. If one or two get hurt, it's a knock to their chances......even with a team that has the depth of Urawa....also they have a game on Saturday as well so they are up to Niigata and then up against a fully rested Kashima squad. As much as I'd like to, I can't argue the merits of any of the 7 who are on the squad and I understand picking alot from one or two squads for consistency but it's still a bit much to ask of one squad or two (JEF and Marinos are giving up a bunch too and they aren't deep)

And one is very injury prone.
I think Osim would put Abe back there if he needs to though.

Well, Osim usually only puts 3 in the backline anyway and loads up with MF. Just look at how many MF there are! I wonder who's gonna start.

Don't worry, I'd even settle for a VCR recording, I could make a video file off of that. By the way, who is starting besidesthe following:

    GK- Kawaguchi
    DF- Komono
    MF- Kaji

I listed the starters in my previous post.
Maki's header hit the post, and Tanaka's wide open rebound chance got saved.

Sounds like they're creating chances and getting shots. Of course, MAKING THE SHOTS, is a different story.

Endo scored but it was ruled offside.
Another close range shot by Endo but this time too weak.

I just wonder if this will turn into another Oman (early 2004) match. Scoreless until 2nd half loss time, then somehow get a winner.

43 minuites, and when japan can't score, it's always possible to draw or defeat us

    There is always a chance.

Big scramble in front of the goal. Popped out of the Yemen keepers hands 3 times but Japan couldn't get it in. Actually a Yemen defender kicked it out of his own keeper's hands once. Almost halftime..

They need to get it to Komano more. He's been standing wide open on the left side.
