    Japan 1-1 Iran.

Hirayama scored by head,Tanaka Tatuya assisted.
Mobali scored for Iran.Beatiful free kick.
The level may not be so high, but I enjoyed to watch.Interesting game.
    Both teams played aggressively.Even game.
I feel Iran dominated in first half and more dangerous,
Japan played better in second half ,
though Japan scored in first half, and Iran scored in second half.
But difference is a little,so Other may feel differently.

Japan tied Korea in Japan at same score last year, and that game Korea overwhelmingly dominated.
But Young team changes quickly,so I withhold my view for compareing Iran with Korea till next Japan-Korea game.

Okubo ,Ishikawa,Moniwa are called for National team and Abe who had been called for NT is injured.
    But same to Iran.

I have been watching Mobali for a while now.Give him two freekick opportunities and he will score one of them in each match.I can confidently say that his freekick skills are as good as Beckham and he is only 19 or 20 years old if I am not mistaking.
Anyway, this is a good result for IRAN considering it was an away game for them.It is no secret that we just play better against east asian teams.

    Not bad....

Good result considering it was in tokyo and we didn't had 3 of our best with us. I was pretty impressed with the amount of crowd that showed up. (40,000) thats a lot for an olympic friendly. I Hope iranians show up for our olympic games too.
Iran dominated most of the match japan looked pretty good too i think we can beat south korea and offcourse malaysia it's china that worries me! I dunno why their NT have always been a walk in the park for us but i heard their olympic team is awsome. We also got china in our group for the u-17 and u-19's.

Just saw the highlights from the first half...

Wow we looked pretty good in the first half too(I only watched the 2nd half). We hit the woodwork once and Kazemian missed a 1 on 1 against the japanese goalie. I watched mobali's freekick again the first time i saw it it didn't look that impressive but after watching it again WOW! awsome freekick i hope they put a link to it so i can watch it again the japanese goaler didn't even get a chance to move!
That hirayama guy was pretty impressive hama he is the future of ur mighty japan! just like how kazemian is the future of mighty iran.

How did you get to see the game. IRIB and JJTV did not broadcast it...

were you watching the same game as me? Iran only dominated the fouling, while Japan dominated the control and scoring chances.
Mobali's free kick should not have been awarded as there was no handball, it seemed. Of course, it would have been nice to see a replay instead of just seeing Hirayama's goal replayed over and over again.

Ha-ha! I was thinking the same thing, but then you must have been watching the NHK feed. Did you hear the announcer say something like, "I'd like to see that replay again and again....", and NHK obliged him!

And I didn't think that either team really dominated the other.

Hirayama had another great shot and nearly scored.
But overall,he often lost a ball.
He struggled with hard contact form Iranian DF.
He need to build more muscle and be more strong.
    It requires time.
But I think he is a very good talent.
He has a potential to become the FW whom Japan has desired for a long time.
Tall, strong, having great shooting skill and other decent skills.

Fair result for Iran. And I didnt know 40,000 fans showed up. That is a good crowd, good for them.

    Thanks for the analysis.

    Whoa Whoa Whoa!

I don't know where you got your stats from but ok lets say i believe you like i said i didn't watch the first half so maybe most of those stuff came from the first half. Even if japan had more position Iran had better oportunities to score did japan hit the cross bar? no Iran did. Did a japanese get a 1 on 1 chance with iran's goali? No but an Iranian player did(against japanese goali). All im saying is We had better chances to score and a 1-1 tie on japanese soil is like a victory for Iran I don't think this would be the result if the game was in Iran. I think(3-1) for Iran would have been the match if it was in Iran.

Korean Football yes i did see the match. IranianStriker: I saw the 2nd half from channel 3(The taped version, i didn't get up because the game was 2am my time) and i saw the highlights from both from a japanese station as well as in the 0 ocloc sports news by channel IRIB channel 6 aka Khabars.

In conclusion if south korea is like japan we will have no problems making it to the olympics.

Korean Coach says Iran Rules! lol

Look at what the korean coach thinks and judge for yourself:

Hankooki - South Korean Olympic football head coach Kim Ho-kon said on Monday that after getting a close look at Iran he believes the team will prove to be tougher opponents than highly-touted China.

``It seems like Iran are stronger than China,'' Kim said after watching a friendly between Iran and Japan at Saitama Stadium in Japan on Sunday night. ``Throughout the game, the Iranian players outmuscled their Japanese opponents. Their combative spirit was great.''

Iran, China and Malaysia are South Korea's Group A opponents in the final round of the Asian qualifiers for a ticket to Athens.

``I think the playmaker who wears number 10 (Eman Mobali) is the most threatening player,'' Kim told Yonhap News Agency. ``My assistant coach Lee Sang-chul and I have the same idea that those are the starters (for the Asian qualifiers). They even dominated the second half.''

Sota Hirayama, making his first start for Japan's Olympic side, opened the scoring after 19 minutes. But 16 minutes after the break , Mobali equalized and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

``On the technical side, Iran have a good balance between attacking and defending,'' Kim said. ``Attackers are actively participating in defensive plays, while those at the back are using their bodies to check the opponents. Their intense defending will give any team a hard time.''

Kim's team will have a match against China in Seoul on March 3 and then take on Iran in Teheran on March 17.

Moroccan manager Madih Mustafa recently praised China, saying, ``In terms of organization and technique, China are indeed better than Korea.'' Morocco recently beat South Korea, but later lost to China.

The final round of the Asian qualifiers will take place from March 3 to May 12 with each group being played on a league basis. The four teams in each group will play each other twice with the group winners advancing to Athens

Except for physical strength,Iran was inferior to Japan.
physical strength of Iran was stronger than that Japanese.I think it to have wanted to say Kim.
As long as I watch this game,Japan always dominated the game,Iran was able to make the chance only 3 times of wonderful FK, a long, long shot, and a long pass. However, Iran is not a weak team but a tough team.
Although Japan made many chances, Japan's players were poor at the shot.
But,I think that No.24 of Japan have a wonderful talent. And I was surprised to know that he is 18 years old.

He said "outmuscled" not "outclassed" or "outskilled"
Indeed Japan is weak in phisical and Football is not a wrestling. That word is not bad word for Japan.
Despite that disadvantage,Japan manage to play football one of the best in Asia with passing skill and organization.I am proud of this.
Korean generally emphasize phisical strength so he felt that is notable.
(Thoug I hope Japan have a strong FW)

    I saw the game again.
In the early second half Japan has a big chance when Tanaka tatsuya shot.
After Iran scored,Japan showed their will to score, then in the end of game put Iran under enormous pressure and Hirayama nearly scored.
But generally Japan did not play good in the second half.I admmit.
Iran put Japan under pressure,Japan struggled with Iran's hard contact, made many easy miss passes and allow Iran danger counter attack.Nemoto was especially terrible.
As for Iran, their dribbling skill really impressed me.
They dribble vary fast and skillful, often can keep a ball despite being challenged by two or three Japanese players.
No doubt No.1 in Asia in this point(though Saudi may be a contender).
When they attack, many other playesr dash to Japanese side.impressive.
But they seemed to be a little unorganised in Offence.
That is the reason Iran shot less than Japan.
Iran didn't have real scoring chances except for freekick in the second half(Iran had two real chances in first half).

As for Korean coach's view,Iran played more phisical game in the second half, and that impressed him,I think.

Japan had three real scoring chance.
Hirayama's goal,Tanaka's shot in the early second half,Hirayama's vollay in the end.
Iran also have three real scoring chance.
    and total shots:Japan 9 and Iran 7.
    almost even.
I think it is a even game.
Japan is more possesion, but I didn't feel so difference.
    According to nikkansports,Japan 53,Iran 47.

The game was held in Japan,so Iran has more valuable draw. But this game was merely friendly, is not so meaningful. It is for preparation. Both team lack main players.
