Not a very inspiring squad. Kawaguchi? What the hell... GK Yoichi Doi (FC Tokyo) Seigo Narazaki (Nagoya Grampus Eight) Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi (Nordsjaelland) DF Atsuhiro Miura (Tokyo Verdy 1969) Tsuneyoshi Miyamoto (Gamba Osaka) Allesandro Santos (Urawa Reds) Yuji Nakazawa (Yokohama F Marinos) Keisuke Tsuboi (Urawa Reds) Akira Kaji (FC Tokyo) Mitsuru Nagata (Kashiwa Reysol) MF Toshiya Fujita (Jubilo Iwata) Takashi Fukunishi (Jubilo Iwata) Hidetoshi Nakata (Bologna) Shunsuke Nakamura (Reggina) Junichi Inamoto (Fulham) Shinji Ono (Feyenoord) Yasuhito Endo (Gamba Osaka) Norihiro Nishi (Jubilo Iwata) FW Atsushi Yanagisawa (Sampdoria) Naohiro Takahara (Hamburg SV) Tatsuhiko Kubo (Yokohama F Marinos) Masashi Motoyama (Kashima Antlers) Keiji Tamada (Kashiwa Reysol)
so will this be zico's last game? if we cannot beat crap like hungary and czech, there's no way we can beat india and no way we can beat iran, oman, and thailand in asia cup.
I think Zico's job is safe until the end of Asian Cup. After that, I think he's fair game. Personally, I'm hoping Czech Republic kicks our ass. I don't want Zico to get fired, but I'm hoping a bad result will expose deadweights like Yanagisawa and Nakamura.
I read the European-based players will only join the team for the Czech game. So are they gonna jump in and stink it up again? Will we see 3 Jubilo MFs against Hungary? It wouldn't be a bad idea. Where is Ogasawara?
I hope the J-League groups beats up on Hungary, then stiffs like Yanagisawa and Nakamura bomb against the Czech. I hate to wish bad results for Japan, but JFA needs a wakeup call. Ogasawara is part of the "Cabakura 7", and only Kubo was picked from the group that was suspended - maybe because Zico desperately needed a striker?
First it was the 7 samurai! Now it's the feared Kabakura 7! wa ha ha ha ha ha. I hope Inamoto plays well against Czech and tells Coleman he can go screw himself, and goes to another Premeirship team.
actually within europe, they are one of the top 5 among with france, denmark, spain, and sweden/england (count them .5). i personally expect czech to top their group over the most-overrated netherlands and germany. however, in japan's standard they are still crap.
To add to this, Jubilo guys are joining the team on 4/23 and Marinos guys are joining on 4/22. So Nakata, Nakamura, Ono and Inamoto won't play the first match, and Fujita, Fukunishi and Nishi will join the team 2 days before the match. This leaves Endo to hold down the midfield by himself until 4/23 and no midfielder on the bench against Hungary! Though I guess Motoyama, Miura and Santos can play if needed. still...
Now Nakazawa and Miyamoto are out with injury. Also, if this team selection isn't a painfully obvious example of how much Zico sucks at choosing a squad, then I don't know what is.
日本代表は負け犬! 日本、絶対負けるよ、ジーコが監督だと!アジア杯も何もかも! Japan will lose every single f***n games if Zico doesn't quit! Even Asian Cup! I just had to say that in Japanese.

"Romance of the Three Kingdoms" (だっけ?)
