Because i am a media nerd I talk some time to reverse anorak how Greenwald and Taibbi create their supposed scandals The key is to take some potentially scary developments like big tech AWS cancelling Parler, then link it to their favourite meme that the liberal media (i.e CNN and MSNBC) who are pro Biden, are "cheerleading" It makes sense at a dumb level - but if you delve into it in any detail it makes no sense e.g there is no anti-trust issue. Parler can get other servers. there is an abuse issue - if you have illegal activities on your servers and don't address them, you will get shut down - see for example megaupload Amazon was the one doing the "heat-shield' routine i.e kick of Parler because they don't want regulation At the end of the day all of this was heavily covered in relevant media - but ironically Taibbi is the one falsely writing this AWS does not have a monopoly on servers - it is a commodity service you can get anywhere! I would imagine that both Matt and Glenn are more than a little worried when they put their underwear on each morning. Their handlers do not pay for failed agitprop.
He qualified it today saying that its probably what these guys see from the local party activists - as the local parties are getting more and more trump - but like you say, that might not be great with the wider pool of voters
But how can you square it? Based on his own claims, he was a lowish ranking naval cryptographer. In that regard he claims to have worked on counter-terrorism ops - up until 2001 He was not an analyst working on regional terrorism issues - its not like he is John Brennan who would have seen and received a shit tonne of intel and had his own teams of analysts As far as I can see the guy is basically a journalist who would have to rely on sources to know what is happening in domestic terror in the US
Not specifically that, but there is a motivation here. Chicago is moving north (slowly), Wikler is doing great at fundraising, and places like Eau Claire and La Crosse are becoming darker blue. Yes, it is a urban/rural divide, but the momentum and anger at the GOP in the state, is palpable.
A piñata I could easily buy..... A Ted Cruz piñata brings smiles —and sales — to a Texas party store owner https://t.co/y2oNcXudkh— Hawaiian_RN🌊🌊 (@ER_RN_TNCCI) February 24, 2021
So when will the Flynns be indicted? Maryland Governor Larry Hogan made this same point in a press conference shortly after the insurrection. MD National Guard was ready to go but did not get authorization from DoD for nearly two hours. This needs a lot more attention. https://t.co/HqPZiFTLvR— Daniel Goldman (@danielsgoldman) February 23, 2021
Well, if true (and, again, I would not trust much that Charlie Sykes says), "Senator" Ron Johnson is failing. From a recent poll of Wisconsin residents and voters: When asked about Sen. Ron Johnson, 51% said he is more interested in helping only his supporters, while 37% say he fairly represents Wisconsin as a whole. Johnson's approval rating is underwater in the poll at 35%, compared to 48% who disapprove. [surprised the disapproval is not higher] Couple of other highlights: By an overwhelming 61-32 margin, respondents said they favor face mask requirements. When asked who they trust more to handle the coronavirus pandemic, 51% chose Evers while 38% responded with Republicans in the state Legislature. 55%, say they disapprove of the job being done by the Legislature while 31% showed their approval. [remember, the Legislature has been gerrymandered into being overwhelmingly Republican] The poll was conducted with 1,000 residents and they were almost completely split between those who voted for Biden and those who voted for Tr*mp (48-48, with 4% not saying/not voting) .
That's the interesting dynamic - as a guy who has to run in 2022, he may fear the base in a primary more than all the voters in the general?
Yes, if Johnson runs. He made a pledge when he was first elected that he would serve 2 terms and that would be it. There have been rumors at him running for Governor (he would lose, badly). Also, Reince Priebus is being considered as a challenger for Johnson. Quite possibly the only Republican who would lose to Johnson in a primary. He should fear all voters in the general, as he is "generally" loathed in Wisconsin. There are calls in the major newspapers for him to resign. There have news reports calling for him to retract various statements. One the one hand, I hope he runs in 2022 and is humiliated. But, to bring it back to January 6th, I decided to watch his entire performance yesterday. It was an embarrassment.
Less misinformation in the Dr. Seuss book. The best thing about Ted Cruz reading that to non-filibuster the ACA, is that he completely misses the entire point of the book.
No. One one hand, that head guy has been quite silent. On the other hand, there have been over 250 arrests directly tied to the insurrection, many thinking they were safe and could trust that White Privilege would protect them.
Federal prosecutors have charged Thomas Webster, a former Marine and retired New York Police Department officer, with allegedly using an aluminum pole to assault a police officer during the Capitol riot on January 6. https://t.co/7tVIEOh5px— CNN (@CNN) February 24, 2021
Marjorie Traitor-Greene ally picked up In tweets after the Capitol insurrection, Greene falsely suggested that those who had broken into the Capitol were not Republicans and instead falsely implied so-called "Antifa" dressed as Trump supporters were to blame. In fact, Anthony Aguero, a conservative livestreamer, activist and associate of Greene, said on video following the January 6 assault on the Capitol that he had been among those who entered and attacked those who falsely claimed it was done by "Antifa." "We were all there. It was not Antifa and it was not BLM. It was Trump supporters that did that yesterday. I'm the first to admit it, being one myself," said Aguero in a video posted on January 7. https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/24/politics/kfile-marjorie-taylor-greene-close-ally-in-capitol-mob/index.html
And she'll do so without any self-irony or self-hypocrisy. I say this because from time anon, the powers that be have tried to and often successfully infiltrated those who were trying to make a societal positive change in order to retain power. It is only natural that those in power thing the other side must be doing the same because they can't think in any other way.
As Smurfquake said, the explanation is easy. He's an antifa infiltrator and is blaming Trump supporters to provide cover for his fellow antifa and to harm the greatest President of all time. As for him being her associate.. She'll just pull a page from Trump's playbook. She doesn't actually know the guy.
