From what my older sister told me. . . I was the result of Dad coming home drunk.

    Small house.

But hey, I can't complain. Beats the alternative of non-existence, IMO.

And my point is they certainly won’t be attacking the capitalist elite. The members of a hypothetical white poorly educated mob would never see capitalist elite as the source of their problem. And attempting to do anything to curb the ill affects of runaway capitalism that hurt that subset of our population the most is exactly the type of thing that would lead them to revolution.

It’s not condescending to recognize that a group of people repeatedly vote against their own best interest. It’s a recognition that they are manipulated by doing so…by the elites the trust (right wing media but jobs) telling them the source of all their problems are the political party that wants them to have clean drinking water, access to healthcare, access to education, access to child care, access to affordable housing, access to public transportation…is the source of their problem

in other words..:.this guy has his finger about as far away from the pulse of under educated white Americans than you could be.

    Riggleman update:

Interesting upbringing in dirt poor Virginia. Had to deprogramme himself from the LDS cult.

Draws interesting parallels with increased religious extremism in the GOP, and the cultism of MAGA/Q. MAGA has a lot of Q elements, and trump regularly plays to it. While there are scary numbers who are all in on it, there seem to be quite a few who agree with the general idea that Trump/GOP is at war with the 'deep state' and shadowy elites (i,e, blacks, the gehyz, the jooz etc). This is essentially a terrorist movement that seeks overthrow of democracy. People who see politics as BAU, seem not to understand that this is a different kinds of threat - more like Jihadists.

An interesting point. He 'joined' the freedom caucus to get elected - as he had been critical of Trump so needed a loyalty play. Notes that it was run by Meadows and Jordan who became total trumpers i.e a scam

Says it all that people like Riggleman were run out of the party.

It was a personal struggle. I still haven't completely gotten over the depression that I spiraled into early on.

The programming is very difficult to overcome, on top of losing a very tight community. I know a lot of people who stay involved, but don't follow all the rules, just because leaving the community is really tough. I was fortunate that my family was always supportive, and I left it behind as opposed to being cut off.

A lot of my identity was wrapped up in being Mormon, and maybe I am/was an outlier, but I took the theology and worship very seriously. So dropping all that was a bit devastating. I became unmoored for several years, trying to find out what kind of person I wanted to be. That changed every few months for several years. It took a long time to go from a deep believer in JC to now being strongly agnostic, and effectually atheist. Luckily for me, and unluckily for her, I had my wife with me for most of the entire process.

Having listened to his story i can 100% believe it

I don't understand why the religion is so intent on making people feel bad about themselves

    What a way to live??

    They are bonkers

Even after her kids were missing for months, many in the LDS community were promoting the idea that they had intentionally hidden the kids from the state and that was somehow fine because freedumb

Of course really she had murdered them and run off to Hawaii

All tied up in these end of times cults

It sucks. I want my daughters to leave a wake of broken-hearted exes to make up for all the inherited shame my wife and I both grew up with.
