I think everyone in life has all kinds of things happening in the background. It isn't easy. I'm two episodes in, nothing so far that changes what I the of James, but a couple of things I learned: - Didn't realize that he had his son via a surrogate because he was lonely. That's tough and his marriage falling apart and the timing with everything else is insightful. - They refer to the calf injury from a couple of angles and show him getting acupuncture on it... - Seemed he really did want to stay at Everton. - Wish they had more on his relationship with Rueda and the Copa
Yeah. The best way to sum of our fandom of James is that his career has been a roller coaster of frustration and adoration. the one thing people sleep on with a guy like Cuadrado is that he was able to put in 8 years with a team like Juve and likely was a model player who did what was asked whether it was play CM, RB, RM, RWB etc. no matter who the coach was. James, sadly, likely ever will never be associated with a club team upon first mention.
James just achieved too much too fast, was such a good player at Porto, then the World Cup in 2014 set him up as a super star on the world stage and his ego got so ********ing big when he went to Real Madrid it messed with him. If he would have been able to stay humble and keep a good environment around him that kept his feet on the ground it's just sad what could have been. If on the field he wasn't so unselfish and complimentary with his style he would have hit more problems but because the way he played offensively was so unselfish it was hard to understand his ego and petulance and likely shielded him from more criticism because he always tended to show up for us.

I was going to share that FB article, but you beat me to it. As the writer said, we're penalizing James for not being all we think he could have been, despite him having achieved many things that are not the norm for Colombian footballers. And his raw talent is so great, that even without playing that much this semester, he had a wonderful assist in last night's game.
His Novela is just so frustrating to watch at club level. Very polarizing and leads to negativity. That is mostly why Colombians do not like him at times.

Honestly he should make an apology before this gets out of hand. We'll see but I don't think this stain will go away and it creates division among the fans. This was so avoidable. It's a no brainer, whatever your political stance is you look terrible snubbing a girl who's obviously a huge fan. He's the captain, he has a roll to represent the team, but just like his documentary the guy is completely clueless and his image gets dragged through the mud and now its creating huge negative stories and bad vibes at the start of the World Cup. The country is divided over the election, if you want to make a statement ok that's your right, but you didn't even make a statement you just getting dragged into it and look like a prick snubbing a young girl who is a huge fan obviously.

They are foolish, the federation, the players there is no leadership or common sense to allow this situation to play out like this, across the world this is standard send off for the national team going to the World Cup, lots of truly terrible leaders and disagreements of political opinions. It's essentially a state responsibility for the team and the president, and we damage ourselves with complete amateur approach. It just reminds me of the stories that came out of the 94 World Cup of kidnappings and how the federation and corruption pushed for who got chosen, just toxic self sabotage you'd hope leadership within the team *James* would be smart or someone from the federation would kill this and get out ahead of it now.
