With this coming straight from UEFA, it's probably safe to say that James might be recognized for only 1 or maybe even 0 champions league titles

Any chance James plays tonight? It's probably going to be a long game to get see him play the last 10 minutes if that.

I doubt it. Didn't even buy tickets to see the game because of that... Jerk-off.

Called it. Happy I didn't buy tickets to the game. Now to just enjoy my much longer workout, get Korean BBQ, and prepare my book for a writer's conference.

Lorenzo is probably going to do something really stupid here & go with him no matter what.
    However,
If he starts him in Bogota and plays him more than a half it will probably put him in the hospital for weeks.

Time is running out. The roster is due May 30th. A few weeks of him training with Minnesota, playing sparingly in MLS matches and training with Envigado is not going to improve his health status or his endurance.

Lorenzo has to make a tough decision. I hope he makes the right one.

It is a day-to-day evaluation currently.

It is "wild" to have a guy on a World Cup roster who did not even make the bench at Minnesota United and has not played 90 minutes since November.

I am his biggest supporter and I think a fit James makes a huge difference for us

but fit is a key word. Can’t send him out there if he can’t play.

not saying he starts.... but not even bringing him....

that is insane... even if he was in a coma... I'd bring his bed out with a nurse just to make sure he wakes up to come in as a sub :)

JuanFer at least can play 50- 60 minutes a match and I do not have to worry about him being connected to an IV for 72 hours.

i would like to believe we can beat Congo / Uzbekistan without James and JFQ - my concern for both games is the elevation. i could see us tiring ourselves out with 500 passes (and one shot on goal) vs their 200 passes (2 shots on goal). maybe James or JFQ could be subs for the last 20 minutes of both games?

a lineup with guys like Lucho/Arias leading the attack and Campaz-Carbonero-Gomez spltting playing time would have been interesting to see in prior friendlies.

    CM: Rios-Lerma
    AM: Arias-Campaz
    False 9: Lucho
    Primary 9: Suarez

sub options: Cordoba, Castano (or Portilla), Puerta, Gomez, Campaz, Carbonero, James, JFQ

    * i am purposefully excluding Borre / Carrascal to illustrate we have adequate cover for midfielders / forwards

You watch highlights from 2014 and James' movement was SO much better. He was actually nimble and had decent speed..idk that even I have fallen off that bad from a physical standpoint age 22 to 34.

Yeah he was like 20 lol

If you can't be hungry at 20 then what are you doing?

The issue is he became stubborn, lost confidence and then eventually he just stopped giving a shit

What should have happened is, he listens to his managers and works on evolving his game

if no James... then no inferior player that is like him....

either go all wingers or James. Anything else is idiotic

so funny when we do well because James bails us out OMG 2nd coming of Christ. Second he and the team lose or have a bad game. OMG never again on the NT. Not even good enough for 26 player roster

Realistically though Lorenzo may not play another winger in an experimental formation. One of the only times he did that was when Sini started instead of James in Peru.
It did not go so well and Sini has not started since.

I mean, maybe he is thinking about doing it with someone like Campaz. That could possibly work but he is better out at left wing.

Anyway, knowing Lorenzo and the slim chance he leaves James home he would probably replace him with a DFM instead. Like Carrascal from America or some dumb move like that.

    Diaz or Arias for James.

Do this fixes 90% of our issues.

Quintero for James does not fix any of our issues. Juan Fer is super slow, can't defend and has terrible stamina as well. Are you as confident in his crosses, free kicks, corners like you would be in a 50% James?

Option is James or use a false #10. Hell even put Puerta there dude seems like he can go anywhere on the field

I trust JuanFer and he usually plays well when the stage is the biggest and brightest.

His set pieces are good too. And his FK shots on goal are arguably better than James at this point in their careers.
