You think James buying a team would be a good thing?? This guy is lazy as ******** and has shown outside of pitch he's a turbo moron. A guy like Falcao absolutely, James would be a disaster for a club unless he was completely hands off but he's not smart enough to do any of that.

we are 142 days from the WC and still no news of a team for James.

Everything is just how he wants it rn. Only plays when he wants and expects to be captain of the NT.

I cannot wait for the day we stop glorifying vagos smh

He is gonna sign with a team late, be behind on conditioning, start the season on the bench, have his coach get visibly frustrated with the questions every press conference as to why he isnt starting, come to the national with everyone questioning his fitness level and if he should start.

    The James cycle.

An ideal world James and Lorenzo are serious and tell him h e needs high level football to start all the games at the World Cup and pressure him to do it for 6 months, he would have locked down a club and be training and preparing to be at his peak. That's out the window, we can just hope that he lands somewhere with some semi decent level and he is integrated quickly and has a 6 month run up to the World Cup that at least he's healthy and in game shape, I won't hold my breath.

lucky if he even gets 4 months under his belt- it's almost Feb, final weeks of any club play are mid to late May. Figure if he gets signed, it will take about 3-4 weeks to be game ready, so that puts him into March, so looking at about 8-10 weeks to be in somewhat acceptable form. Barring injury, coach disagreements, Diva tantrums and splitting minutes with a more agile MF, it's doable but not a ton of options except FCF, Liga MX and MLS (warm weather) clubs that can benefit by his play but at a hugely discounted cut in salary for a short term sign up ....

Im thinking he won't start for colombia, surely not anyway. If he doesn't even play idk how he can handle a world cup game for 90 minutes

I'm betting you he starts both NT games in March, regardless of club situation. Over/Under?

Retired James hung over and on one leg accomplishes more on the NT than the best form of carrascal

Lorenzo needs to prepare for life without James for this World Cup, if he's fit and firing great but I think chances are high he's not going to be able to go a full tournament.

    Diaz-Suarez-Arias
    Deossa-Rios-Carrascal

That lineup shares the burden of losing James creativity, if James is good to go great if not I like this alot, Carrascal doesn't need to be a 10 neither does arias, get them in their preferred roles and force guys to step up rather than always looking to James.

he wants 6m from Atletico Nacional.... they only make 500k for winning the league haha

tho Ospina makes 3m which makes 0 sense he isn't even that good anymore and they had 3 other NT caliber GKs just rotting

That's what we start doing on July 20th for sure, and honestly maybe is a good starting line up and we use James more like Cameroon did the aging Roger Milla to come on at the end of games... But he just means too much to this team.

Also - and this is important - match form matters less in this scenario, James ALWAYS takes time off to train individually and get set for major tournaments. Remember the deal he struck to leave Monaco early in 2014 to get fit for the World Cup. He did the same thing for the Copa two years ago...

We should have done this a long time ago when I was calling for it before the Copa.

It is too late now. Everything goes through him offensively. We just have to hope that he signs with a team soon and keeps his fitness.
Or just hope Carrascal finally shows something as a starter in his position. There really isn’t another plan.
As for your lineup, I like Deossa a lot but there is no indication he will be even on the squad let alone starting for us any time soon.
