I can understand why the Everton fans hate Sigurdsson. Dude keeps waving away James from all the free kicks when a 3rd of Everton's goals have come off of James' dead balls.

James was walking the pitch for the last 5 minutes...I hope he's not injured again.

They arent good enough or deep enough to get by without Richarlison.

They need Richarlison on the pitch and whether Andres Gomes or someone else (def not Sigurdson, who should be playing further up) another solid box to box to recreate the form they started the season with.

They simply aren't getting James enough of the ball up at right wing to influence the game, and when he plays further back, he brings more clarity into their approach but they lack the creativity in final third (he can't do both).

The honeymoon period is over for Everton - I was hoping they could make it to December before really being tested. Hopefully they can find their rhythm after the international break

Everton have not won one single game WITHOUT Richarlison on the pitch since he joined in 2018 apparently

t's a competitive league and they are in the midst of a turnaround. They need more depth at those positions but they have a decent base to start from, IMHO.

I think they can, but Carlo needs to get his act together. Throwing an out of shape Holgate and a below par Siggurdson in the starting lineup were terrible errors. Add the poor form showed by Coleman and James plus missing Richarlison and the team looked worse than last season.

I have been critical of Allan and Doucoure but today they were forced to cover too much ground due to the limited mobility of James and Siggurdson. Gomes should have been in there helping hold the middle while doing a similar job at passing and creating spaces.

Holgate was supposed to offer more speed and better passing but today he was frequently caught out of position, when Mina was doing a decent job defending and passing from the backline, plus he would have offered a better target for free kicks and corner kicks that were mostly handled comfortably by Mcguire.

They better get it right quick, because December is a murder's row for Everton

James and Richarlison was basically creating everything. Gylfi can't play over Gomes, he's a waste and can't do shit creating with the ball. Everton can compete with the good sides but their depth will always kind of screw them. United are inconsistent but they beat PSG and Leipizg real bad in the last couple weeks so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that without Richarlison they struggled.

I also think Richarlison has a great overlap threat with Digne. Without Richie, I felt like Digne was exhausted and ran out of steam a few times on runs I am used to him getting to.

Yeah their set up with a good 9 who just feeds off service and James on the right who's great at attracting pressure then playing out of it is perfect. Richarlison is really hard to mark in space and Digne just loves to overlap, its really the ideal scenario to get the most out of the team and Richarlison but without James and without Richarlison there isn't the same ability to profit off an overload with Richarlison/Digne down that side and Lewin and James then getting into the box.
