As I'm sure everybody on this board knows, I'm a huge James Milner fan. Apparently, so are Spurs! I'm sure a longer article will follow, but 5 million pound bid for both Milner and Robbo ... that would have been quite nice had Leeds taken that one! At least we know Spurs like Milner! :D

Yep, the only problem is that the Sun were claiming it was Eirik Bakke we were bidding for along with Robbo - but I have decided to view that as bull****, partly because the Sun are playing with the bookies, and partly because the thought of paying any money for Bakke makes me feel sick.

Would love to see us sign Milner. Would be difficult not least because Alex Ferguson has his eye on him. Apparently a while ago Milner changed agency to the Elite Sport Agency - which is owned and run by Jason Ferguson, the son of.... well, you know who.

Thank god, Bakke sucks balls. He's the poor man's Poyet - and that's not intended as a compliment.

Robbo is fair enough as we need another experienced keeper, getting one who is young like him kills two birds with one stone. I dread to think what would happen if we go into a match this season with Hirschfeld or Burch as our number 1.

I say up that 5 mil bid to something more like 7.5 or so for the both of them. Hell in a couple weeks when it becomes pretty clear to them they are going down it will be too late to sell them off until the summer. Hell I understand wanting to keep Robinson, who will help them in the present but Milner is probably their most marketable player and yet he won't really help them in the present time, he is more likely to be great in two years. Spurs can wait on him to develop while Leeds can't IMO.

I agree with you Chris. Milner is a bubble player for Leeds at the moment. Sure, he's unquestionably talented and may become a star. The fact that he's local-born and loves the club make it almost criminal that they'd have to part with him, but he's the only valuable player they can lose unless they get cash ... and quickly, to stave off administration.

Robbo is going to go, I have no doubts. I'm guessing he'll go to Chelsea. So, unless they can offload a few others to reach the 5 million mark, it's really over for Leeds. :( So, if they intend to retain Smith--and he's the one player that they cannot afford to let go--Milner must be sacrificed. Viduka is a double edged sword. His attitude makes him less marketable and it hurts the team, but his talent makes him indespensible.

Milner is the #1 English player I'd go after if I were Levy. If he waits to go for him, he may not be able to afford him, and even if he does, Milner would chose Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsen*l. Once they get Ashburton Grove, the big 3 will really begin to separate even more financially.

The Sun said that Bakke caught Pleat's eye in the recent game that Spurs won.

However, that was like his first game back after 6 months out.

Milner, ANY day!! Even friday ;)

Did you guys see that we even offered to let Leeds keep the two guys until the end of the year and then we would get them?? I think that is just brilliant and can't believe that Leeds isn't going to do it being as if they go down they have two less guys to sell in a firesale for probably less than we are offering now and if they stay up they can get some backers in there and replace the two guys, well at least try to replace them. I doubt they find anyone as good as Milner for that little but staying up should be their principle concern, which isn't going to well I might add. Which sucks because I tend to pull for Leeds hell got to be more fun to watch than Portsmouth and Wolves.

Looks like we're going to make another bid for Milner. Bring him over I say! While I'd hate to see Leeds lose Milner, I think he's going to be a very good player, and I don't expect him to remain at Leeds long, so ... how about White Hart Lane? :D

Awfully premature, I know, but I like the kid, what can I say.

Leeds are wanting more for Robinson too, and if they stay up then they can (sort of) afford to do that. Milner would be great, and he does fit in with our "buy young talent" policy.

    Fingers crossed!
