Puteolana lost on the road to Latina on Saturday 2-1. No idea if Jamar played yet, but the team website should have a report tomorrow.

They now sit 16th of 18 in C2 after 3 rounds.

Well, if the team keeps on losing, Jamar's bound to get his chance.

We're rooting for you Jamar!!!! :)

JB still has time to resurrect his career. At his age, Harkes and Ramos were still playing college soccer.

But, he needs to go where he can play 90 minutes, week after week.

Holy smokes! I didn't realize that he still was so young. It just seems like he's been around forever. Maybe there is still some hope!

He was not a bad player by any means. Actually, he was pretty good. I'd like to see him back in MLS.

    Ajax like Beasleys'

I don’t know how many of you know this info, but Jamar does have somewhat of a following overseas. After the Ajax friendly a few years back, a friendly in which Jamar was without a doubt the most dangerous player on the pitch (Ajax did play their first team, Machlas, Arveladze, and some youngsters like Pius Ikpedia, Bobson, ect ect. He was constantly stretching the defense, and if it were not for some poor finishing, would have scored on many occasions. Countless times he stretched the defense, got behind the defense, beat his marker, everyone looked as you would say silly. It got to the point were Ajax started to hack Jamar, resulting in some ugly fouls and confrontations. Nevertheless, after that match Ajax inquired about ‘acquiring’ Jamar, they didn’t get him and the rest is history. He does have potential, just needs the playing time to refine his abilities.

Doesn't he have something of a friendship with Ibrahim Ba? I wonder if that has something to do with his ability to find work in Italy. I'm certain it had something to do with his dye jobs...

Thats very nice Brunssen, but apparently all black people must look the same to you or something.....you are talking about DaMarcus Beasley, we are talking about Jamar his older brother!
    HEHEHE sorry I couldn't resist

  11. Jamar was one of 5 professionals on the U-20 side in Nigeria with the likes of Albright, Twellman, Cherundolo, Gibbs, Bocanegra & Howard (Matt Goldsmith!?). Others in that tourney were Marquez, Torrado, R. Keane, Duff, Emerton, Santa Cruz, Forlan, Dani, A. Cole, S. Wright, Inamoto, Ono, D. Suazo, Xavi, Casillas, Ronaldino, Julio Ceasar, & Edu.

Tell me, why is Chris Albright still employed in MLS, and Jamar Beasley is not? It sure isn't salary. Both after 4 seasons:

    . . . . . . . GP GS . MIN G A PTS SHT SOG
    Beasley . 59 17 . 2,145 .7 8 . 22 . 77 . 41
    Albright . .71 48 . 4,395 .4 3 . 11 119 . 56

Do ya think come 2002 Albright is still in MLS or starting striker for the Richmond Kickers?

Hopefully he'll be starting place kicker for the Calgary Stampede instead.

Probably because Albright has a guaranteed contract.
He was a big signing for the league when he left UVa and MLS was in competition with European clubs to sign him so they ponied up the money.

His contract should be up soon though... either this year or next.

Sorry Cory, he's right. He's talking about the friendly that the Revs played against Ajax 2-3 years ago. I also remember hearing reports that Jamar was one of the best players that day.

I am absolutely certain that come 2002 Albright is still in MLS. Furthermore, he will be an LA Galaxy player getting occassional starts in the midfield.

I can't see any farther into the future than that, but my vision is clear this far.

    :)

He was class. although, i feel he would suffer inside in the ajax tactics, he would be wonderful on the wing where he could beat players with his dribbling and pace. getting off the center or perhaps even dribbling inside?? who knows/??

corey, i was talking of the older Beasley. not Demarcus(sp?)....who, in addition i might add... is probably the youngster with the most potential i have seen in a while.

I agree. He's right. I was there. Jamar was ON that day.

BTW, the starting strikers on the U-20 team that went to Nigeria were Albright and Twellman. Jamar was on the bench for good reason. He wasn't as good as the other two. That is not to say in the end he won't be as good as Albright but 3 years ago he was not.

Maybe Chris Albright does more work off the ball than Jamar Beasley does.

Maybe Chris Albright is a better athlete.

Maybe Jamar Beasley is a pain in the ass.

Maybe Sigi Schmid, who has built the best team in MLS thinks that Albright is worth something.

I don't know really. But somewhere along the line Jamar's career took a left turn and he hasn't been able to find his way back.

I think he should have tried a quality A-League team for a couple of years,...re-establish himself and hopefully get another crack at MLS.

    Right.

If he can't even dress for a team at the bottom of the Italian 4th division, he needs to come home.

Look at the bright side. They can't scapegoat him for the team's position.

Me too. He's just gonna have to work back up. But as a Fire fan, I appreciate what he did for us that 1 season.

I hate to be the resident pessimist but lets be honest here, Jamar's stats with the Fire aren't quite fair. That Fire team had a midfield which made an over the hill Wynalda (who by the by couldn't get a guaranteed starting job in the MLS this year so took money from the A-League, ran, and got injured) look like someone who should be playing for the USMNT again. I have little complaint against Jamar, but most goals scored on that team were poacher style, whether for Jamar or Wynalda. That said, the amount I got to see Jamar play really wasn't enough for me to make a determination on whether he can cut it. He should come back to the A-League, if worst comes to worst I have no doubt his brother could hook him up with a backup forward role for the Fire again :D

Jamar needs to come back home. He's wasting his time in Italy. I'm almost positive an A-League team would like to have is services.
