No, sorry. I coach a boys high school team and I haven't talked to D or his parents in a couple of weeks. Jamar is supposed to email us or jump on chat with us at work sometime, but I doubt he has had time to get his computer set up himself. D always did it for him i guess, and unless he finds someone at the club, I won't expect to hear from him that way anytime soon. He calls Bob Poursanidis, my boss and his former coach from overseas ocasionally, but he hasn't done that lately yet either.

I wish Jamar well as it would be nice if his career began to blossom as DMB's did.

It must be tough as heck to live in the shadow of your younger brother!

    30/08/02 • Puteolana: firmano Beasley e Bonetti

This is from an Italian website, www.resport.it/campania . Click on Calcio C2. It states that Beasley is an ex-Nocerina player. So it looks as if this is for real. Good Luck to Jamar in Pozzuoli, unless he decides to move again within the next month.:)

The Puteolana Fan site also reports Jamar joining the club on August 30, along with a number of other new players.

Doesn't say much about him, but does mention that he is an attacker and that he is DaMarcus's brother.

Any word whether he has played yet?

...Unless the Italian leagues have not begun play...

I can't find any information on whether Beasley has played yet. Puteolana has played its group round of the Coppa Italia di C, but did not advance.

    Their results:
    SORA - PUTEOLANA 2-0
    PUTEOLANA - LATINA 1-2
CASTEL DI SANGRO - PUTEOLANA 0-2
    PUTEOLANA - GLADIATOR 1-1

The points table for thier group:
    Latina 8 (advanced)
    Sora 7
    Castel Di Sango 6
    Puteolana 4
    Gladiator 2

The C2/C league season was originally scheduled to begin last Sunday Sept 1, like all Italian leagues, but that round was postponed.

Puteolana will play at Brindisi this Sunday Sept 8.

I want to play for a team called Castle of Blood. On that, given the Book on the miracle of that same name, I'm a bit worried that Jamar may be facing a great deal of racism in C2. In the book at least, it came from within the team, without, everywhere, and seemed to be pretty much expected.

I'm 99% sure the delay in league play only affects Serie A. That's been pushed back until the 14th of Sept. with the TV money issue still not 100% resolved.

Serie C2 does start this weekend.

Tomorrow is the first day of matches. 6 "anticipi" matches.

Sunday begins the season for the majority of the teams, and on Monday there are 3 "posticipi" matches.

So far what I know is this, Jamar is with the team, training, but has not yet played for them because of ongoing negotiations between the club that just let him transfer. This info is a week old, so I don't know yet if he has played this weekend or not. His brother D will be here at the Plex hanging out with us tommarow, I will ask him about what's going on, and if Jamar has got his computer set up yet so I can start IM 'ing him directly.

The first week of all professional soccer in Italy (A, B, C1, C2) was postponed according to the websites I checked.

No information on line-ups, but I do know that Puteolana opened thier league season yesterday at Brindisi. Result below (for those of you who taped it :) )

    Brindisi 3-0 Puteolana

Important thing as far as YA board is concerned is that Beasley did not play or make the subs bench.

Puteolana open their home campaign Sunday against Nocerina (briefly the "home" of Beasley, Yi, and Akwari).

    Puteolana's latest result:

    Puteolana 0-0 Nocerina

Match report (Italian) indicates Beasley again was not on the match day squad.
