I think it's about time that those of us Jamaican football fans have a centralized, specific thread to track all Jamaican footballers playing abroad. With the help of some sweeping research, here's a list of all Jamaicans playing abroad that I've been able to gather. Please feel free to add any that I've missed. First, a few notes: A few players are presently out of contract, given the timing of this post in the off-season. For those players, their most recent club was listed. International Caps and Goals are listed when known, but they may be out of date. Wikipedia was my primary source for that information. I scoured the first five divisions of English football thoroughly, and then did spot checks of the 6th & 7th divisions, so my list of non-league players in England may not be comprehensive. I only scoured the top three divisions of American soccer (MLS, USL-1, USL-2) since there is so much turnover in the PDL. Nice work, will add a few names later as we have quite a few players playing in T&T and a few more in Belgium. Oh, please, please remove Jeff Cunningham
I'll look forward to seeing your additions. I'm not Jamaican and thus don't have full insight into all players in the pool, but I have become a big fan of Jamaican football in the last 2+ years. And Cunningham was born in Jamaica and has that cap from 1999, so I've got to include him.

I might add that there are easily triple this amount of players with Jamaican linage in the various leagues around the world.
Some Jamaican-related transfer news: Stoke winger Demar Phillips is on trial at League One side Oldham Athletic.. Phillips wasn't getting much playing time with Stoke, and is certainly not likely to this season with the team in the Premiership. Best to loan out to a team where he is assured playing time. Ipswich Town issued a bid for relegated Colchester striker Kevin Lisbie. Lisbie bagged 17 goals last season for the Championship club, now relegated to League One. Hull City bids for Wigan striker Marlon King. Wigan rates King at about £5m, the amount they paid for him when purchased from Watford.
I know. But check this out: http://toronto.fc.mlsnet.com/player...ningham_j&playerId=cun444955&statType=current
Disappointing to see that he's leaving England and that things never worked out for him at Sheffield United. However, he was a prolific goalscorer in the Swedish Allsvenskan, and if he can get regular playing time in the Tippeligaen, more power to him. The guy really has been a teriffic goalscorer for the Jamaican national team in the last few years.

Palmer off to Norway for trial with premier league club BY KAYON RAYNOR Senior staff reporter raynork@jamaicaobserver.com Monday, February 02, 2009 HARBOUR View's attacking midfielder and leading goal-scorer Lovel Palmer leaves the island today for a two-week trial stint with newly promoted premiership club IK Start Kristiansand in Norway. Harbour View general manager Clyde Jureidini yesterday confirmed that Palmer will be trying to become the club's second player - after Fabian Taylor - to ply his trade in the Norwegian Tippelgaen. PALMER (right)... i've always wanted to go back there (Norway) and play "The need for a player of the style and substance of Lovel Palmer was sought and we have agreed, the Habour View Football Club, for him to go on a two-week trial. He departs February 2 and he's scheduled to return after two weeks on February 16th or 17th," Juriedini told the Observer yesterday. Taylor will also be playing in the Norwegian premiership this coming season after his club Notodden FK earned promotion from the second division. Palmer, who has represented Jamaica at the national Under-17, Under-20, Under-23 and senior levels will be making his second trip to Norway having gone there as a member of Essex Valley FC in 1998 to participate in their annual youth international tournament. "I've always wanted to go back there and play, because football there is nice and it's also a beautiful country... so I was always anticipating to go back to Norway, I know a lot of people want to go to England, Spain or Italy, but for me it was always about Norway (because of) the love and the welcome that I got there," an excited Palmer told the Observer yesterday. The hard working midfielder, who has won two national premier league titles (2000 & 2007) as well as two CFU Club Championship crowns (2004 & 2007) with Harbour View, says he will grab the opportunity with both hands in the Scandinavian side. "I'm not even thinking about not getting the deal (contract) or anything like that because I've been training hard all season, I've been playing well all season, (so) all I need to do is just go there, be Lovel and once I put out my best effort, I know I will get the deal," the 24-year-old said. Palmer has netted a team high eight goals for Harbour View in the Digicel Premier League (DPL). "I've been preparing all my life for this and now I get the opportunity it's just a chance to showcase my talent, which I've been doing day in, day out with Harbour View," added Palmer, who's the younger brother of Olympian sprint cont......http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/spor...NORWAY_FOR_TRIAL_WITH_PREMIER_LEAGUE_CLUB.asp
