ESPN Does anyone know how we can get ahold of ESPN or FoxSports so they know there is an audiance who wants to watch this game?
No TV broadcast for USA vs Jamaica I imagine you could contact each of them through their websites. I also imagine that they're already aware they're letting soccer fans down. And, the worst part, I'm sure they're not losing much sleep over it.
as bad as i want to see the match, we are talking about an utterly meaningless friendly on a wednesday night. despite how bad we want to see it, there still isn't the huge market for it yet. these guys aren't philanthropists, they're running a business. if soccer would make them more money, they'd show the game.
It maybe a meaningless freindly, but I'm sure it would be fun to watch. IT's also interesting to watch players who are just coming into the national team picture as Bruce is experimenting with new line-ups. Heck, I would settle for watching the game even if someone flew to the game, receorded it on a camcorder then replayed the tape at Summers. Then again, this might be a good excuse to make that trip to Jamica. It's been too cold around here.
I never said it wouldn't be fun to watch and I am always interested in seeing the new talent, I was just making a purely business analysis of why TV might not pick it up.
I agree, your reasons are a good explanation for why the game won't be shown. I just wish USSF could come up with a way to provide access to more of these games, even if it was on PPV. I wonder if there would be a way to rebroadcast the Jamiacan TV broadcast on tape delay or something on FSW? It would be cool listening to Play-by-play done in Jamiacan patois.
Please enlighten me.... I admit that I am not sure how the rights to games are held, or how the television politics work, but it is ***************in idiotic that we cant simply turn on our televisions and watch our national team play. Friendly or not, these games are important to see our national team play and progress. PLease someone tell me why ESPN, ESPN2, and major news stations are lacking for these games... The Canada game we had to jump through hoops to watch, and this one isnt even on PPV.... Friggin PPV.... PLease someone explain how/why this is going on, ... thanks in advance

Re: Re: Please enlighten me.... yeah, but I have a hard time believing that ESPN2 showing bowling or the STIHL logger championships is more financially rewarding..
Re: Re: Re: Please enlighten me.... I think there was a thread a couple months ago about the bowling-It is done the same way MLS is done on ESPN, where MLS buys the time. So they are at least making money on bowling.
No TV broadcast for USA vs Jamaica I'm really tempted to do this, but my fear is that I'll also be signing up for never-ending spam. Hey andylovesoccer, have you signed up for this? If so, how is it? Can we get a little feedback?
No TV broadcast for USA vs Jamaica I have tried twice to register and have gotten error messages. I'll try again today and let you know what happens.
You really have to believe that the Jamaica game would draw a bigger TV audience than the USWNT against Iceland. ICELAND???? But the Iceland game will be televised and the Jamaica USMNT has been pulled, after the USSF initially stated that it would be televised. The network is probably trying to keep TV coverage of the USMNT and USMNT proportional. ESPN announced in 1999 that it was cutting broadcasts of the USMNT because it had broadcast so many games in the Women's World Cup to some of the lowest ratings in history. The U.S. games had good ratings but the other games attracted almost no viewers.
