The French national team manager said he would like his team's April 2 match vs. Israel to be postponed in the event of war in Iraq. Now I know the French have a reputation for cowardice, but this is sinking to a new low. The match is already being played in Palermo, Italy because UEFA has banned Israel from hosting competitive matches on home soil despite the 100% safety record of visiting teams in Israel (can't say the same for, oh, say, Germany). And now the French manager is fearful of playing a non-combatant nation on neutral ground because there will be a war on over 1,000 miles away. Quelle honte.
