What remains unknown (because, MLS) is why Fuson, Angking and Farsi are very clearly listed on the 1st team’s roster, and just as clearly started out the season as Crew 2 players, but somehow are not categorized as players who’ve also moved up to MLS from Next Pro.
But there is no loan-to-MLS option in the roster rules. Just those short-term (4 day) MLS contracts for up to 16 days in total. It could be in some cases that someone just didn't update the MLS roster page and some of these players aren't actually on that roster. Angking, for example, was signed to a Crew 2 contract and than signed to a four day MLS contract in April, along with defender Philip Qunton: https://www.columbuscrew.com/news/c...,Charlotte Independence and Hartford Athletic. But he was clearly a Crew 2 player: https://www.columbuscrew.com/news/c...our-players-ahead-of-2022-mls-next-pro-season Who now appears on the 1st team roster as a Supplemental Slot (24-28) player: https://www.mlssoccer.com/clubs/columbus-crew/roster/ Meaning he has an MLS contract. But JRR was the first player to move up to the first team from Crew 2? I just don't get it.

Jacen was doing pretty well for the first team before Cucho was signed so no, for the top performers in MLSNP to first team isn’t a huge gap. Mo Farsi has also come into first team games and done well. But if the first team was to play the second team they still win by 4 or 5 goals
Feels like people keep asking who on Crew2 can come up and help the Crew. JRR scored more goals than had games for Crew 2 and was MLS Next Pro golden boot winner by 5 goals (30+% more than anyone else had). I know people will disagree with how well he did for the senior side. Current coach has him behind Hurtado in the depth chart. I certainly have my complaints about the current coach, but I actually agree with that assessment (so far).
Caleb Porter would be more likely to play JRR (hopefully?) if we had the playoffs clinched and he wasn’t fighting for his job. I don’t ever think he’s been the type of coach to rely on youngsters, however.
I disagree JRR is better than Hurtado he has a better touch . Hurtado has been around so he may understand the concepts of what we’re doing better. But when your touch is bad and your shooting is generally very bad Like hurtado I’d rather have the youngster. Hurtado shouldn’t be on this roster the fact that he is tells me how bad this roster is. Montreal back up striker is Kei Kamara.
It was great to see JRR show up last night sporting a new do, but I'm surprised that he couldn't find someone besides Vito Wormgoors old barber to do it for him.
